This is and island called Long Island, USA. Population: 7.500.000

This island has a population almost as big as my country. Millions of people have been born, lived and died here with no real impact, all on this island. I find it so bizarre there are places like this in the world, a hive of people just doing nothing. I’m sure there is a German word for it

> I’m sure there is a German word for it
We call that Schweden

That is a strange thing to think about. The number of people in the world and around you.
Especially because like you said, so few are specifically memorable, and even ones that are now aren't in the future.
Just an endless cycle of humanity without real meaning or purpose.

>island is long
>name it long island

Do americans really?

>Newfoundland
>British Colombia
>Brampton

Isnt the island wide because its horizontal?

>a hive of people just doing nothing
A lot of them do nothing, but they aren’t nothing. Long Island is where the Hamptons are(a group of towns on the eastern edge of the island), which is one of the premier hangout spots for rich people in the world. The top-end golf courses there cost six figures just to get in, in addition to an invite usually. It’s where Andrew Cuomo went when he quit after the sex harassment thing.

>Brandon, Manitoba

Long Island has produced some of the most famous people in American media of the 20th century

wtf? there's more people there than in my whole country

Brooklyn and Queens are technically on long island and those alone are more relevant than all of scandinavia

>Millions of people have been born, lived and died here with no real impact,
Still more of an impact than your country though

Thats how I feel about China.
>obscure Chinese city you've never heard of and might not have even existed 30 years ago
>5 million people
Shits wild.

Ah yes, the highly impactful forest of Sweden

Sounds like a fucking nightmare living there I would have asked my Jewish doctor to abort me if I was born there

Its population density is lower than Helsinki.

Idk the situation in Norway but you have less flat land so I would guess it wasnt economically worth it to do it as much

>Wuhan was unknown before corona
>has 12 million people.

>a hive
2/3 of it is farmland and old money mansions and vacation homes on the far end
