Walking around here and getting Aleksotas to Garliava junction vibes.

And this is like Vilijampolė minus the pieces of it with commieblocks :O

I also dig some of these older houses vibes:

north-eastern Poland looks a lot like Lithuania except we have too many street advertisements

but Łomża is historically part of Mazovia, they were one of the northeasternmost outposts of the Piast kingdom and then Mazovian duchy which defended Poland from Yotvingian, Prussian and Lithuanian invasions.

Maybe you heard about:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruno_of_Querfurt

He founded the first church in Łomża around the year of 1000.

#733

i don't believe in numbers

>north-eastern Poland looks a lot like Lithuania except we have too many street advertisements
Well, you don't have random surviving 19th century wooden cuckhouses sprinkled all over the place as well it seems
>Maybe you heard about:
Of course. Everyone here has heard of him, because he's associated with the oldest mention of Lithuania in a written text ever.
He's mentioned in the exact event, in the annals of Quedinburg
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annals_of_Quedlinburg

>He founded the first church in Łomża around the year of 1000.
Amazing. Earlier than the first mention of any entity as Lithuania.

What is EU rule in regards to hentai?

I couldn't really find a Łomża center on google maps. Is there a central square/old-town/central main street or smth type of a place?
A lot of what I was randomly clicking around really reminded me of Kaunas areas outside of the center. Except Łomża had a more stably clean looking array of nice houses instead of the absolute randomness going on quite often in such areas here

every country has it's own laws

you can’t post this its illegal in my country!!!!

>Well, you don't have random surviving 19th century wooden cuckhouses sprinkled all over the place as well it seems

we do, maybe you just didn't notice

>Amazing. Earlier than the first mention of any entity as Lithuania.

Yes, Łomża is generally a very old town even though it was relocated in the 14th century to the place where it is now, the first Łomża was located a bit south of the current location.

This is also why they argue with Białystok, because Łomża has glorious history while Białystok was a village for most of time and only got the town rights in 17th century.

>I couldn't really find a Łomża center on google maps. Is there a central square/old-town/central main street or smth type of a place?

Yes, of course, you can't have a historic Polish town without a market square:

google.com/maps/@53.1791167,22.0808052,3a,75y,143.89h,90.62t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1syyy8pwT9WIjcxQbAeaF30A!2e0!6shttps://streetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com/v1/thumbnail?panoid=yyy8pwT9WIjcxQbAeaF30A&cb_client=maps_sv.tactile.gps&w=203&h=100&yaw=31.257013&pitch=0&thumbfov=100!7i13312!8i6656

Now it's under reconstruction:

youtube.com/watch?v=3UtvLQhErOY&feature=emb_title

Next to the market square there is the cathedral:

google.com/maps/@53.1780638,22.0802199,3a,75y,198.47h,104.71t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1swvmGJ3huaSo91gZprjEr-w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

btw, Łomza was heavily damaged in WW2 so a lot of historic architecture in the old town was replaced with commieblocks sadly

k have some more

lt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lomža
Found some cool central pics there:)
>since I know the sound of the word "Łomża" ingites anger and wrath in Lithuanian hearts
Wut?

How can something illegal be so readily accessible on the most popular website

Łomża is one of the places where you usually stay for hours in traffic because it doesn't have a by-pass yet (it's u/c)

nice vulva

Attached: around Poles watch your holes.png (631x709, 120.72K)

ofc Łomża isn't some hidden gem or any great tourist attraction, it's in general much more poorly looking than Kaunas, my point is that both cities kind of shared a similar position until 1918 when Kaunas got promoted to the state capital while Łomża lost any kind of relevance, even regional capital status and after 100 years Kaunas is the European capital of culture while Łomża is a no-name city only associated with beer and enormous traffic jams

pvre pre-renovation Kaunas vibe

btw, our minister of culture while visiting Kaunas compared it to Gdynia in terms of importance of modernist architecture there, did you see Gdynia? Did you find it similar to Kaunas somehow?

>we do, maybe you just didn't notice
Perhaps. I'll need to look more. But definitely doesn't seem like as common of a sight at first glance.
> it was relocated in the 14th century to the place where it is now, the first Łomża was located a bit south of the current location.
WHOA. That's literally the 1:1 story of Trakai. Even the century for moving it is correct.
Senieji Trakai(Old Trakai) is now just a sovlful little place. With it's own melancholy vibe to it. But they are now finishing restorations of the really old surviving centerpieces. Also to the south of Trakai.

Lovely. Thanks for sharing the imagery.
Some of the houses in the market square are cool, but Poland definitely has a whole handful of more impressive market squares too.
I would love to visit that cathedral someday. Now that looks impressive.

>Senieji Trakai(Old Trakai) is now just a sovlful little place.

The old Łomża is also a village called "Stara Łomża" so just "Old Łomża", there are two hills on which the old town was located with the ruins of the church, cemetery and settlement

>but Poland definitely has a whole handful of more impressive market squares too.

Yes, it's nothing special indeed, the history of the town is more interesting than the town itself.
