What is the point of a federation if there are no cultural/linguistic differences within the country? Care to explain, Germany, US, etc?

Both german and american states have unique cultures and in the case of Germany there is a 1000 years of history behind almost ever state.

Anglos are predisposed to federation because they were just copying UK, although America wasn't a single state since English colonization either.
Germany because it used to be different states before they united into Germany.
What is atrocious is a country the size of Indonesia not being a federation because muh propaganda.

UK isn't a federation

Then why is Franconia part of Bavaria?
Why no Swabia as a federal state? no Slav Lusatia as a separate entity?

>Then why is Franconia part of Bavaria?
Napoleon
>no Slav Lusatia as a separate entity?
There's like 60000 of them and their lands are not connected.

it's not as if we split the country up, it started as separate colonies and then united, and there hasn't been enough of an incentive for the states to give up their "sovereignty"

and as you can see, the different regions of the country don't really like each other, maybe it's not 50 different things but at least like 6 or 7

Federation is the redpilled form of government. All bluepilled Eastern Euro shitholes failed because we wanted to much centralization

the UK is one of the most centralised countries on this planet.

>posting as a former A-H country
>posting as a neighbor of former Yugoslavia
Is this clever bait or what?
>In4 Germany
They would be rich regardless of federalism
There's plenty of developed countries that aren't federations

What's the point of Belgium if Germany and France are part of the same union now?

What's the point of a federation with 2 members.
>They would be rich regardless of federalism
We would end up like France with one mega city and the rest of the country being a rural backwater

what's the point of belgium, period

We have 6

>We would end up like France with one mega city and the rest of the country being a rural backwater
That's a gross exaggeration and Germany is densely populated and urbanized anyway so it wouldn't happen like that.
Also it's not like the only alternative to federalism is hypercentralization
A country can be unitary and decentralized

Name them.
Unitarian states end up only investing in the capital and let everything else fall apart. Look at the UK and France.

All regions on here have own government and legislative power

I don't know about those other countries but that is usually cope from corrupt and incompetent local politicians who want a scapegoat so they blame the capital city and naive people fall for that.

But those overlap

idk, those who wrote the constitution after ww1 thought its a good idea. Although Vorarlberg should have some autonomy anyway in my opinion, they speak alemannic like the swiss and once tried to seceede and join them

german culture has been destroyed after ww2, there isnt anything special seperating berlin form cologne, not even speaking of US states where the cultural difference is one eats mcdonalds and the other KFC

Have you ever been in Cologne and Berlin?
