Turkish purchasing power was equal to Italy back in 2006-2007. This was due to extensive borrowing which created a false boom and a spending mania. Plus in 2008 Fed monetary policy caused 1st world to print a lot of money and spend it on 3rd world countries which promised high returns. Here, Instead of investing in the economy more retarded consoomerism was pursued.
In 2013 the fed policy reversed which pulled money back to 1st world. The investors who came in 2000s wanted their returns and the borrowed bucks from 2000s also started to want their shit back.

Two problems, as other user said it is mostly on few goods. On a price basis vegetables and fruits are cheaper here than in europe, but most of them are produce that EU refuse accept. So enjoy your cancerous tangerines
Other is the widespread sallary of minimum wage. In turkey half the population earns minimum wage while in develop countries it is somewhere around 10-15%. So stating a min wage sallary will buy x amount of milk in europe too! doesn't hold.
