Looks like some good gestures.

Your head is in the right place and fwiw I like what I can discern of your line.
here's a page I'm working on. I'm going to launch my web comic in a week or two. I'm just finishing up my buffer (this is page 28. 29 is in inks, 30 and the cover are what I'm left to do before launch).

Done a couple days ago. Check the link for the full pic. Would put it on catbox, but it's being weird with my upload.

Great gestures, great figures.

Looking nice, so far. There's room for improvement, but it's good for a webcomic. Keep on practicing!

Thanks, this is a pretty weak page in comparison to some of the others.

How do you guys go about studying? I know they are important, but I can never shake the feeling I'm wasting time/learning the wrong way when I could just be drawing for fun/in general.

Attempt to ape Bob Rafei’s style.

Study references as you draw. Really try to understand the, shapes, colors, lighting & perspective whenever you draw. Fundamentals are important, but you just need to know the basics of them, don't mindlessly drill them for years like /ic/ would tell you.

Basically, draw what you WANT to draw, but do it well, & do better every time you draw those things.

Any recommended sources of drawing the head? On Figure Drawing by Michael Hampton and I'm not sure this method is gelling with me.

Hey that still requires strong fundamental skills. Looking good.

Well I think I know the gist of the fundamentals; guess the iterative route is the way to go. Sounds the whole ''don't compare yourself to others work; compare to yourself'' means.

Loomis. There are also other guides on drawing the head on the internet.

Same. Royally fucked up and drew the final lines on the prelim sketch layer.

Last thing I sketched, I think it was about a week ago?

Last week was brutal, I'm re-gathering my will to do hobbies, and I'm nearly there. Happy I managed to get this elf inked over, at least.
