Why did I stop caring about cartoons after I left high school?

What happened to me? Is there an explaination to this?

I would say you grew up but you're posting on Any Forums, so that's clearly not the case

All cartoons or just new ones? Even the normiest of normies will still enjoy a cartoon they remember growing up with. If you mean you don't like the new ones then you're what we call: an average adult who is no longer able to relate to children's entertainment. You know, like how we're all supposed to be.

Maybe you have the opposite of the visual taste many of us had as kids where we couldn't watch live action shows

or maybe you just need to try some darker animations like Watership Down or Plague Dogs

I didn't stop caring per se, but I started taking them much less seriously. I could go on rants about how this or that episode of My Little Pony is poorly written but now I feel like it is what it is. I don't consume cartoons as often as I used to, and nowadays even if I don't like something, I'll try to keep my criticism to the most important, central idea of it, rather than going over every detail. I also don't tend to get outraged over individual episodes anymore, again, I just treat it like it is what it is in my eyes. Coincidentally, most of reviewer Youtubers trying to be a mix of Nostalgia Critic and CinemaSins have grown much less respectable in my eyes and I began to see their channels as more of a waste of time.

I did watch Watership Down, weird stuff but I liked the character design and story.

I'm saying this because I did a bit of research of what cartoons I relate and like, and all of them came out before I finished highschool or the very same year. After that, the cartoons that came out after that year, I just find them unwatchable or they bore me to death after 5 minutes.

You sound normal, besides being on Any Forums. But even that's pretty normal these days. You grew up, congratulations. That puts you leagues ahead of the rest of the autists and twitter refugees infesting this board.

Gumball has the zoomer humour nailed down to a 100%
Good stuff

And the most funny part of this is that I can fap to the porn of those cartoons after I left high school, and enjoy it a lot, but I can't get myself to watch their shows, it's beyond me. I can consume the cartoon porn but not the fucking shows they are from. Unbelievable.

In my armchair analysis, there’s two possibilities
>desire for “more”
A lot of cartoons don’t really have much complexity to them, joke wise or character wise. Many post-high school/college aged men usually gravitate towards something that challenges them at least a little, and a medium almost solely dedicated to children’s’ entertainment isn’t going to cut it. Even the adult animation usually doesn’t offer much.
>lower tolerance
People who get older tend to go through a phase where “goofier” things with an abundance of cliches are more annoying than charming. I don’t know how you feel, OP, but I noticed myself that my tolerance for tropes like fourth wall breaks is lower than it once was than as a kid.

Why not read books instead then? If you're going to cartoons/comics then you're still a manchild by all accounts. Same with anime and manga, it's cringe. You'll unironically get more out of reading the classics than whatever shitty FOTM is popular at the moment.

You're here forever fag, cope

Come and join me while I get snug then, bitch.

>normies
>normiest of normies

You're growing up and no longer defining yourself by what and how you can criticize. It's a stage a lot of folks on here never get past in their arrested development.
As a teen, you think how you can criticize something demonstrates your maturity. As an adult you realize that comicbook guy is a loser.

You're not wrong about the classics having merit, but as long as you keep using the word "cringe" unironically you're still being a slave to others' expectations. You can enjoy whatever you want. You should engage with classics because you legitimately want to engage with them, not because someone told you to.

Shut your pretentious maw, you condescending faggot.

>many of us had as kids where we couldn't watch live action shows
user, I have bad news for you, that's called being autistic.

>maw
you had to activate my vore fetish, didn't you?
