Did Mabel develop a knack for anything. Dipper seemed to be the only one who really gave a fuck.

Might get a tad intimidated by their son since he could grow up distant and possibly to into magic discoveries. Hopefully theyll tell Mabel to look after him anf regain his tiento down to earth family love.

Mabel did solve a mystery in international generation.

God I hate Mabel. Why the hell is he apologizing to this cunt?

Shes co dependant on him

Yup. Always gets what she wants in the end, screws Dipper out of so many things (first step closer to Wendy (considering they were about to enter pretty much a Tunnel of Love equivalent who know what could have happened, at least one step closer) - for a fucking pig, him staying as an apprentice), causes the nearly global apocalypse because of not accepting growing up.
One of the worst characters ever.

Shes got got fap matrrial thought. On topic, do you think thr mom would encourage her son being magical researcher or archelogist even though it means he would face eldtrich abominations most of the time.

She'd probably not be told that THAT is his main task, just that he became the apprentice of a famous super genius with 7 PhDs.
ANd when Mabel then talks about it probably discard it as her typical fantasy going wild.
Yes, monsters dear. Of course. And solving mysteries. As a scientist's apprentice. No more raw sugar packets for you!

How would the dad react?

Depends on how aware they are of their uncles' connection to the occult.

If they were aware, they would risk exposing the truth to the public since they would tell all their friends and co workers that their children went to camp out with relatives who know that magic and mytholgy exists.

The moral of the story is that you shouldn't pursue your quirky passions, you should always go back to your mundane life.
And secondary moral is Alex Hirsch's sister is always right.

Dipper looks like he's about to explain how miscarriage is often harder on the woman.

Thats depressing if true.

He loves his sister.

Physically.
