Mrs. Brisby (Secret of NIMH) Thread

Well lads, its done. Ms. Any Forums 2022 has been crowned (Hail the beautiful Queen Fang) and our little mouse Mrs. has not only earned herself a seat on the Elite 8 but she's also been ranked an astonishing 5th of 128 of Any Forums's finest waifus.

To say I'm proud is an understatement. It warms my heart to know that Any Forums still has anons with immaculate taste.

To celebrate, post pics of Mrs. B yes, even the bondage OC created during the comp is welcome here, you all plated a part in getting her here!.

woah, I haven't seen this one before. she's super cute.

I find the owl scene to be particularly memorable. I mean, I suppose that's just from it being framed extremely well, though I would go further to say that it might have something to do with the way they were presented as a character. It's still a matter of the "wise old" owl archetype, but through the eyes of a mouse which would otherwise be prey to it, and that's a cool touch. Normally "old and wise" are attributes that I think tend to be attached together to benevolent characters (which they still are in the very same movie).

There is so many scenes in this story where poor Mrs. Brisby must step out of her comfort zone.
>confront her natural aerial predator for advice
>ask the strange rats for help.
>confront her natural land predator to incapacitate him
>deal with humans
>Save her kids.
Keeping in mind this is all done on a time limit, only weeks after the death of her husband, and while her son is on hos deathbed.

Brisby got some weapons grade hips.

Mrs. Brisby is an interesting protagonist because her defining courage is undermined constantly on a surface level because she is so nervous and soft-spoken. She is constantly expressing bravery throughout the entire story, but she is performing the actions while freaking the fuck out non-stop.

It makes sense. Bravery isn't the absence of fear, it's action in spite of fear.

Powerful. Believe that.

It's an important lesson to teach. I feel that most media that try to push themes of bravery sometimes forget that and just erase the fear altogether for effect. also I don't have any Brisby images and it's late as shit

Thoughts?

I hadn't watched this movie since middle school, and mostly remembered it as a surprisingly 'dark' kids movie. But I was honestly surprised how super cozy and entertaining it was all these years later after rewatching it again during Ms. Any Forums.

I think it's interesting that in the book she doesn't have a very high opinion of the owl. She's not just scared of him as a predator; she also thinks to herself that the owl's probably not as wise as the other animals assume.

Eh, the whole tournaments been a shitshow and most of it is directly NSA's fault. He was really incompetent this year. Maybe you could forgive him for the round 3 stuff and pushing people through when they didn't deserve it, but that whole stunt with the finale was just retarded. You can't walk back like that, it's not how a tournament works, and now everyone is angry.
I'm not sure I even trust him to remove rigging anymore, because every time someone asks how he knows there's rigging, his response is 'just trust me, if I tell you, the riggers will figure out how I know it's them.' Or even 'I don't want to drag characters through the mud, like I just did.' That's not good enough anymore; and now it just seems like he's passing or denying people on a whim and just has no idea who's rigging.

Why can't we just get a host that keeps his fucking mouth shut, removes obvious rigging, and tells us who won? That's all the tournament needs.
If Mrs Brisby lost, fucking fine, I can accept that, but don't carry on with this farce.

Love for the fallens

You forgot Fang’s *

Round 3 was the result of letting the riggers choose the winning option. NSA was dumb for thinking he'd get a good answer.

If psyanon is here and there's not another Ms. Any Forums stealth thread this is a personal invitation to post the last recap here

Since there are no more threads for Mrs. Any Forums this year, I claim this as the final edition.

Shut the fuck up Saiyanigger

>Maybe you could forgive him for the round 3 stuff and pushing people through when they didn't deserve it
We caused that.
>You can't walk back like that, it's not how a tournament works
You can if the opponent's team was discovered cheating they are disqualified and second place moves up to first. That's literally how most tournaments work. He said they cheated before, and that meant they lose if you use common sense.

>Why can't we just get a host that keeps his fucking mouth shut, removes obvious rigging, and tells us who won?
Because nobody made a rule to stop it. It was more likely that every other host let rigging happen. Spinel was obviously rigged and that was under the golden era of stats. We probably never had a clean tourney.
