Even CBR saying IDW TMNT suck now

>cbr.com/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-ruined-mutant-town-idw/

>Ever since the introduction of the "Mutant Town" concept, the TMNT books from IDW have gone downhill dramatically. No longer really starring the Turtles, the books has become slice-of-life stories with little action and fewer stakes. The storyline has continued for over 2 years, leaving a huge damper on what was once a must-read series. Here's how what could've been an interesting concept instead took the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles out of the limelight of their own series.

>As mentioned, the Ninja Turtles took quite a while to get back together after Mutant Town became a thing, with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic books post-issue #100 being far more interested in everyone and everything else. Mona Lisa and Alopex took center stage, along with the "fifth" Ninja Turtle -- a formerly human female turtle named Jennika. That character's role as a new turtle was somewhat forced as is, as she had no real connection to the TMNT or Master Splinter. Putting her and several other characters under the spotlight at the expense of the protagonists was insanely unwise, especially given the tone that the series began going for. Whereas action and adventure had once been the focus, the Mutant Town issues have honed in on relationship drama, slice-of-life stories and, strangely enough, a battle of the bands.

>TMNT
>Five Turtles

They said while posting an issue thats not from Mutant Town. Good journalism.

Post-100 added a DeviantArt self-insert OC.

Nobody should be surprised since it's being written by a troon.

I thought “The Last Ronin” was a success?

Funny how they left out that the book is selling better than it did before #100.

Thats an Elseworlds.

Lefty hacks don't care what they're handed on a platter to run; they'll turn anything into boring SoL pap filled with lectures and propaganda. Similar types turns Transformers of all things into tranny shit.

That's its own miniseries.

really?

Sophie Campbell use to be Ross Campbell, created the indie series Wet Moon and fetishized lesbians in all their comics before they trooned-out.

The furries and scalies no longer funding that shit book?

it's okay user, this is 4channel. you can call him a man.

Still IDW's best seller even without The Last Ronin

Makes sense for him.

Yeah, sales have actually been improving since 100.

Plus theres Last Ronin's upcoming sequel, Armageddon Game, another PR crossover, the Fred Wolf comic...TMNT is fine.

IDW must be doing really bad then.

Whatever happened with that Frankenstein Venus de Milo thing they were doing?

Actually, Last Ronin #5 was the best selling comic of the month. Like, beat Marvel and DC.

Meanwhile, the Last Ronin hardcover is a NYT bestseller.

Yeah, they're bleeding money and putting all their hopes in getting a creator owned hit

Dude, it was a band-aid over a gaping flesh wound
Over reliance on any licenseshit is gonna bite you in the ass eventually

She fucked off because if she actually joined the family that would distract from this shitty 5 Turtles/5 elements/ninja magic storyline

Eh, still doing good right now. People have been saying IDW is about to die for what, 5? 6 years?

Think Boco
If IDW is doing fine, why are they changing their entire identity and focus as a company?
Why haven't they acquired new licenses and are letting Transformers, GI Joe, Ghostbusters, etc just slip away?

Well, TF and GI Joe are because whoever got them made a pitch that Hasbro "loved", so it wasn't entirely a money thing.
