I study linguistic in Russia and for my fourth year project I've decided to make a whole translation of some Russian/Soviet cartoon or even animated series into English. So, could you tell me what kind of cartoon you would like to see the most?
Hello Any Forumsmrades! Could you help me with my undergraduate research?
The Captain Wrungel one, form the makers of the oft-memed Treasure Island but wackier
I have alot in here but i will post it next time
Unfortunately The Adventures Of Captain Wrongel already has a translation. It's divided into episodes on youtube but still.
Bump with Little star
You know what doesn’t have translation? Awesome soviet greek mythology cartoon series:

>Perseus

>Argonauts

>Theseus

>Hercules returns from Olympus

Good fucking luck.
Good one! I'll write it down.
Hmm. Are cartoons about Prostokvashino or Leopold the Cat translated?
Do this character!
Does anyone know how to translate this cartoon?
These cartoons are too mainstream and translated in most parts already. I'm looking for some hidden gem I would love to work with.
I'll think about it, thanks.
Very funny

Okay, one last shot.
There was a childrens book I remember really enjoying as a kid, "Cкaзкa c пoдpoбнocтями", where an amusement park manager tells the wooden horses on the carousel a bedtime story, and they keep asking to expand on the details about secondary characters in the story, and he ends up spending the entire night detailing a massive universe with tons of characters, with a goat stealing cabbage and monkeys escaping from the zoo to "help" people and a guy mistaking chocolate for soap in the dark and a photographer flying to Africa to get a photo of a lion and many more.
The reason I'm telling this is because I remember catching some cartoons or parts of a cartoon on TV that were clearly adapted from this book. Specifically the bit about monkeys escaping from the zoo and causing shenanigans. I think at one point they emptied a swimming pool to put out a fire (with swimmers still inside), then replenished it with water from a lake (and brought all the fish along). However I have no idea what the cartoon was, and I can't find any info about that book ever being adapted into one. So if any of the above sounds familiar, I want that cartoon.
...As I was typing this I realized that if it's only the monkeys bit that was adapted, then maybe there isn't even anything to translate since I don't think they spoke. Still, I'd like to know if anyone knows the cartoon I'm talking about.
No problems... thanks
