>What are you currently reading? >What are you looking forward to the most? >What's your whale?
Personally, I've just started reading New Mutants. I heard people say the beginning is mediocre but it's pretty fun so far imo. Having a New Rome in the Amazon is crazy comic shit and I like it I also just got all the X-Men crossover omnis in preparation for when Uncanny X-Men Vol 5 comes out, cause I figured it's better to get these now rather than in a year when they might be OOP or more expensive. Time will tell whether I made the right choice and whether Marvel will fix that stupid gap issue they made. They probably won't, but at least that Fall of the Mutants cover is pretty damn sweet
>What are you currently reading? This Warlock book as I am reading a bunch of Marvel cosmic stuff from this era >What are you looking forward to the most? Miracleman Omnibus. I also have Fantastic 4 Full Circle and Akira Toriyama's Manga Theatre arriving next week so I am excited for those as well >What's your whale? Currently Daredevil Love and War Gallery edition but it's possible to get that content elsewhere for much cheaper than people are selling it for so I'm not too worried about it as much as I love the larger format
>Miracleman Omnibus. I also have Fantastic 4 Full Circle Based, I've got those coming as well. I know Full Circle got storytimed here recently, but I'm waiting to get my copy to read it. How good is it story-wise (since we all know the art's automatically great)?

I feel like Rahne’s non stop monologue about the state of her soul really brings things down. “Ooo they’re my friends, but they’re so wicked! Is that a TV- it’s a tool o’ Satan! saints preserve us!”
Grayson Miller
Read it and let us know.

Waiting on full circle. I’m not a fan of Ross’ paintings, but his line work looks fantastic.

I mean you can say that about any Claremont character, really. They all tend to repeat their angst to themselves quite a bit. I'm only about 10 issues in though, so I can't really judge for New Mutants yet I have to say though, for all his repetition at least the character drama in Claremont's UXM actually changes and develops over time. I was reading 60s X-Men before I started New Mutants, and most of the "drama" in that run consists of Scott and Jean having the world's worst will-they-won't-they that's communicated entirely through thought bubbles, until about 45 issues in they're inexplicably now together without any fanfare

I'm also thinking of getting the Mutant Massacre Omni soon. It's the only crossover that I'm missing and I have a feeling Marvel wont reprint it anytime soon. Any news on Uncanny X-men Vol 1-4 reprint? I can find 1 and 4 for 140€ but I havent seen anybody selling Vol.2.

>I mean you can say that about any Claremont character, really That’s a reductive statement intended to stifle any chance for discussion, but surely you see there are degrees?
Cameron Adams
>Any news on Uncanny X-men Vol 1-4 reprint? I see them in the wild a plenty. They were last reprinted over like the past 1-2 years. But given how X shit sells you'll probably get another reprint in another year or so.
Jeremiah Adams
I think the Uncanny omnis should still be around, they only got reprinted like a year or two back. The only one I had trouble tracking down was the second one. I got vol 1 back in March/April this year, and then got vol 2 in May/June. Vol 1 was for a reasonable price IIRC, like £60-70 on amazon, but vol 2 was much harder to find. I had to go through a lot of online sites until I finally found some obscure goth site selling a copy for £100. I felt the price was a bit much compared to other places online but since it was so difficult to find I had to grab it if I wanted to continue reading UXM. As for vols 3 and 4 I got both of those this summer without any real fuss, but I've just had a look now and the site I got them from (Forbidden Planet) now lists both of them as out of stock. But with the way Marvel's going recently I wouldn't be surprised if they get reprints sooner rather than later

I didn't mean it to be reductive so apologies. Of course there's degrees to it I think any repetition on Claremont's part comes partly from Shooter's editorial edicts about making the status quo crystal clear each issue for any new readers, and partly from Claremont's own habits of keeping plotlines going for a long time

>I havent seen anybody selling Vol.2. If you live near Chicago Couple of the stores in the suburbs have vol 2
Robert Gonzalez
why do you have a lot of marvel events
Jose Hall
>If you live near Chicago NTA but he literally has Euros in his post

I saw one guy saying it’s great and he doesn’t like Ross’ other stuff, which made me actually interested in reading it

I got into comics as a kid/teen and when you're that age, without the received wisdom that modern Marvel ain't that great, you just kinda tend to pick up whatever ones you find in the bookshop or newsagents. Hence why I'm a "proud" owner of Civil War II Though I was also collecting the Marvel Essentials of 60s stuff as a kid too, so my taste wasn't that bad back then

I got the History of EC Comics. I didn’t realize how big it would be. Currently there isn’t a good way for me to shelf it. Here’s a pic for size comparison.
