I've been catching up on the recent Marvel movies I skipped, the three I saw the most hate for on Any Forums.
- Black Widow was terrible.
- Shang-Chi was great, I don't know what you all were bitching about. I understand it takes a drastic departure from the comics, but the result was still good.
- Eternals was terrible.

Specifically with Eternals though: why the FUCK did this guy decide to fight everyone? If the plan worked, the Celestial would just be asleep for a relatively short amount of time then be born as normal. If it didn't work, it just be... born as normal, which is what he wanted. So what was his logic supposed to be in fighting?

>Shang-Chi was great
>Eternals was terrible
You're an Asian male, aren't you?

I'm a white, cisgender male in my 30's that's had heterosexual sex.

Setting aside people might actually like the elements they departed from, it's a mid martial arts film at best and revealing Chinese Wakanda felt lazy.

can you describe this heterosexual sex to me in detail?

>Chinese Wakanda
You weren't paying attention to the movie.

Shang Chi may not be great, but it's easily the best Phase 4 movie by virtue of having the only decent script.

Shang Chi was more Iron Fist than actual Shang Chi

I understand if they can't use the Fu Manchu related characters/stuff, but the movie was nothing like the Moench/Gulacy stuff

Taiwan is a country

I enjoyed Shang-Chi a lot too, I was surprised at how Any Forums seemed to react so negatively to it. It was easily the best 2021 MCU entry IMO

>had heterosexual sex.
He lied as naturally as breathing.

>MCU
>doing anything as cool as that drawing
Pick only one.

>Only decent script
>Father spends all his fucking late life looking for a fucking water map
Sigh... you guys will swallow anything

Yes, I, OP, agree. Taiwan is a country and Shang-Chi was good.
You really didn't pay attention to the movie if you think that's true.

I liked Shang but hell the cgi dragon at the end was fucking awful

LOL yeah
>What if we kill off the villain that the hero has an actual personal connection and drama with and then have the climax be with a massive CGI demon that has no identity except "manipulates people so it can get out and eat everything". Just a big VFX spectacle with zero emotional stakes.
Brilliant filmmaking.

Shang-Chi felt like two separate movies smashed into one.

I found Shang Chi to be basically enjoyable, but for the Master of Kung Fu, the chopsocky was really lame. It's like no one at Marvel had ever seen a Jackie Chan movie.

The other thing was the unnecessary magic world place which resulted in the usual lame CGI fuckfest and created a bunch of new stick figures for the inevitable movie down the road where some army fights some other damn army. Boring.

A lot of it was fine, and it was certainly entertaining. Just a huge missed opportunity. Also I guess Shang has zero charisma, but they tried to backstop that with Awkwafina.

Black Widow was good though

Not OP but I just finished it last night and
>be Mandarin
>live for a thousand years as one of the most powerful men on the planet
>start a family for the first time like 990 years into this life
>wife dies
>this makes you sad, as if death has never once happened to you before in your thousand years of life
>hear the voice of your dead wife behind a wall but everyone says it's a trick by an evil soul-eating dragon
>break down wall
>turns out you were tricked
>soul-eating dragon grabs you
>"lol guess I'll just die then"
Never mind the fact that it's kinda silly he only found out about grief 990 years into his life, my main problem is that I would've thought an immortal would at least try and fucking fight when facing death instead of giving up
Sure you can say it's because he wanted to be with his wife or some shit but come ON

It's on par with Thor or Black Panther or Iron Man 2.
Not good but decent enough to not have me turn it off in the middle of watching, the point is the other shows are just really bad.

Marvel is truly just big budget arthouse
