Same here.

Learn from the internet like everyone else dumb faggot

Go to the library

>i want to study animation
no you don't
t. studied animation

Go figure drawing at least once a week for the next three years ($1,560 over 2 years), and buy a copy of pic related (50 dollars once).

Reproduce all example images in pic related, and produce at least one novel image per page of your own based on the examples contained therein. When you finish everything, spend the next 6-12 months animating stuff you feel passionate about, to build a portfolio.

Thank me later, I just gave you a better animation education than most paid art schools were ever going to give you. Their plan was to teach you zero fundamentals, throw you in Toonboom, call the 2-5 minutes of underinformed scribblings that emerge from these student projects "adequate", give you a B+, than charge you 50-100k for the honor of leaving you wholly unequipped to actually get industry jobs.

If what you say is true, how come there are such bad people who don't really teach you anything? Why do they do that?

>how come there are such bad people who don't really teach you anything?
Posting the classic image from the book itself on the subject plus bonus memes.

The truth is they don't know how to teach the subject. The old masters are now dead and gone, and a significant portion of the student body is unaccustomed and uninterested in the rigors of a comprehensive education in draftsmanship. It's both personal weaknesses of the students, who don't see art school as the crucible of training it would need to be to produce extraordinary work, and lack of guidance after decades where the students never had a real teacher who deeply knew their shit

>comparing fine arts to animation
fucking retard

An education by drawing from life is the core of the knowledge necessary to produce weight, comical, full-of-life animation.

Pic related, once more from his text.

Hi Brian

if you cared about animation you wouldn't fucking study fine arts, are you stupid?

There's plenty of self-taught animators with the internet, that's not an excuse.

You probably can't even draw so why even consider animating anything loser.

You don't have to go to school to learn any of this shit dude. There are artist that put out literally EVERY technique for free via videos. Art school is the biggest meme ever. All the real great ones that stand out are the ones that didn't go to school for it .

If you want to study animation, you can just use the "," and "." button on youtube.

>reading comprehension this bad
Reread the image in , it explains why an animator would care about the fine art of draftsmanship.

You don’t need to go to school for animation, it’s mostly just a way to get connections for the industry

I just want to learn how to animate for myself, but it's not like you can hire an animator to give you private classes.

Just learn some basics in blender or whatever 3D software the kiddos use these days, make a patreon and live off porn animations.
You'll make more money then a professional animator

That's okay, everyone is.
