So that latest episode ended on a pretty fuckin' dark note, huh? No guitar riff outro to make it feel like a joke just... lingering on them flatlining until the credits hit.
Beavis & Butt-Head
Only three more days until the funny image can be posted.
We now know there are infinite Beavis and Buttheads so it's no biggie
lol cool
its out?
New episode dropped today.
First half is another ep of them as old guys called "Kidney" in which we get to meet middle aged Stewart who donates his kidney to Beavis.
Second half is "The Good Deed" which is them as they normally are mistaking a lethal pesticide for Spanish Fly and trying to serve it during a school dance, thinking they're doing a public service by making everyone more like them (AKA Constantly horny)
This is the fucking second time they've canonically died.
What was the first? Only episodes I remember ending in death in the original run was the Cow Tipping and Halloween eps where Beavis gets slaughtered with a chainsaw.
Unless you wanna count the end of that Crying ep where it shows an elderly Butt-Head dropping dead.
wait is this the one were they think the real world is a video game and try to kill themsevels to start over the level. don't they wake up in the hostpial alive or did i miss a episode.
i think a darker episode was when they did they're a wonderful life parody where they showed how everyone's life's including beavis's would be better without butt head. and they show beavis in a homeless shelter severing food to the homeless and when butt head tries to rope beavis back into his schemes all the homeless defend beavis.
alot of the episodes in the reboot really sell how this is a abusive realtionship.
Not that user, but the one where they get bitten by a hobo then get a disease that turns their skin green (on top of some chunks falling down) and they end up in the hospital and the episode ends without them getting better
no thats virtual stupidity where they try to kill themselves
Watching them die didn’t shock me as much as watching them guzzle down insecticide. If they had done this episode in the 90s they’d need a “don’t drink fucking chemicals” disclaimer at the bottom of the screen like they did with the stove gas and paint thinner.
DDT is apparently tasteless so I don’t know why they were reviled at drinking it, but after seeing the farm safety film “Apaches” I can’t imagine the side effects of drinking this shit to be pleasant
Absolutely insane how after nearly 30 years, Beavis and Butt-Head is still timeless. These latest two episodes were hilarious. And while I had some initial reservations about Titmouse's handling of the animation this time around, the new season looks fantastic. Easily one of the more visually appealing adult comedy cartoons out right now. Carries the spirit and energy of the franchise just perfectly.
Either production gaps are necessary to maintain a long-running comedy's quality, or Mike Judge is just that powerful.
I love to judge but this is too slick. Beavis and Butthead were meant to be more cartoonish than King Of The Hill. I'm going to pass this one
If you look at a show like Arthur, it maintained its quality for its entire run thanks to a staff that was dedicated to making the best product imaginable. I think that's what is lacking about long-running shows like The Simpsons or Family Guy is that they don't have anybody at the helm keeping the meaning and vision in sight like Arthur does. Shows like Hey Arnold could have actually run forever much like Arthur did because it explores the lives of adults (or the world) through the eyes of a child. Mike Judge said he ran out of ideas for Beavis and Butthead at the end of its original run. I feel like you are correct that the production gap is important in this case because if it had continued it would have just become a tired product like Family Guy but it's possible, if people are willing, to have people who care in production like Arthur. Although it would be more difficult for any individual to focus on making quality Beavis and Butthead experiences because you feel stupid.
I don't think when it comes to Beavis and Butthead that Mike Judge is particularly powerful. I think all that is happening here is nostalgia, just like how nostalgia keeps interest for complete retarded shit like Transformers, all Hanna Barbara properties, and Ninja Turtles alive. It's just an older generation nostalgiaing hard and maybe getting their kids hooked on it. The landscape is so fucking bad for new IPs that studios are basically throwing money at everything that at one point was popular because it'll have guaranteed sales and Beavis and Butthead and soon to be King of the Hill probably got revivals because of that. I loved Beavis and Butthead but a lot of it was because it was one of the meme machines of the day, when you try and invoke the laughter and quotes nowadays, it's not as ubiquitous.
There's less competency and enduring artistic value here than proven revenues, which is all that really matters at the end of the day.
>and soon to be King of the Hill
That revival is but a rumor, user.
I’m pretty sure Sterculius (the Roman God of feces) shits them and everyone in the arena to death.
Oh, plenty of episodes end like that with them being totally fucked in hospital but none ever outright had them die like this most recent ep did.
I remember a really old one that ended with them playing catch with a live grenade(the episode dealt with them stumbling into a recruitment office or some shit)
canonical end
They're not dead retard. Back in 2011 they caught Hep C and a bunch of diseases from a hobo and they came back just fine.
Does middle aged Stewart still wear a Winger shirt?
