Nah, Cars 2 isn't the best but as a franchise as a whole it's pretty good. Heck Toy Story now has 2 films out of 5 that people regard as bad, that equates to the same ratio of Cars.
I just think the whole idea about it being about 'cars' alienates some of the more casual pixar fanbase who are of the opinion that "pixar films have to appeal to the whole family", which comes from the belief that only boys like cars. When in reality these films tend to have the same care and attention that Pixar put into all their movies (probably more since alot of the old Pixar guys were gearheads).
But it's whatever, I'll take a Cars 2 over the Incredibles 2 or Soul any day.

I had a bootleg copy of the first Cars movie. Right when McQueen drove into the cactus patch the audio cut out and all you could hear was

It stuck with me more than the actual movie.
