It’s crazy that everyone in entertainment has to keep feeding the monkey, and so much of it works. I think about someone like Mindy Kaling, it’s honestly a painful situation to be in, to literally HAVE to be front and center and try and sell the world content of yourself they dont really want, because if she stops that means losing her career. Could you imagine being anyone like this, ‘fuck I’m 60, guess it’s time to make a tv show for kids about how special I was as a toddler, or else I just have to retire’ sounds insane
Of course Ellen’s a crazy rich cunt so I have less sympathy for her

Did kids even watch it?
It was locked on a expensive streaming service they don’t have access to.

Pretty much, though there are definitely men without much to give who have to release a bunch of crap and trick companies into going bankrupt hiring them so they can make merely one year’s worth of income. Lot of women find their lane and succeed at this throughout life too, Martha Stewart and that Pioneer home cook and what have you. It’s got to be a depressing affair when you’re just desperately scrambling to put your face on anything at the risk of your career

No, lol. The only kids show that was getting views over there from the appropriate target audience was sesame street. Everything else (summer camp island, infinity train, etc.) was being viewed by adults.

Everything about the product and point of sale screams ‘crazy rich political futurist picking tv they think will turn their kid into the New Democratic dreamchild.’ I struggle to find the exact words so stay with me here. I’m thinking about a very rich person who is very loyally liberal/democratic, who lives in a very modern extremely clean kind of new age open mansion, in a rich neighborhood that’s groomed like a campus. They are quietly tired of people, but strongly believe in philanthropy and the belief that whatever job they’re doing is ushering in a better world for people. They have strange and rare devices for everything, they have a smooth white tea dispenser in the kitchen they active remotely from their shower, their car is luxurious to the point of escaping the world around them, they got the finest most thorough surveillance system in their kid’s nursery. They are SURE that their child will become the next-generation wise, loving, special and transcendental person. They are DYING for their kid to say something politically inspiring to them, ‘Mommy, why can’t they see we’re all the same?’, if their kid said that, they would cry and tell everyone how amazing the kid is, like they really have created the ultimate new being. This person LOVES Ellen. This person wants their kid to be like Ellen, such a bold erudite and successful progressive being! And without any of the unseemly low-class behaviors anybody who makes less than $200k/yr is liable to have! Please Ellen, come to us through our arcane glossy white tv box, and show my child how to be that liberated rainbow-stickered kid who moves adult souls with her straight-laced progressive and elite personality! Make my kid into that drawing of an eventually rich and transcended starchild. Ellen please teach my kid to be like you when I hear you talk on your tv show
Something like that

deserves to be lost media

Nobody watched it. It was fucking awful.

literally no one watched it, that's why it was canceled and they're not bothering to release the last 20 episodes

I will include this in a porn comic.

>kids
>having their own streaming service
They just mooched off their parents like every other thing

I have issues believing that such a person exists.

Elle Michalka is a great illustrator, might pick this up for her work

Not him, but they unfortunately do. You see it all the time on twitter, with made up scenarios like "My daughter just said Orange Man was a bully, what wisdom from the mouths of babes!" or "My son just said he wants to try wearing dresses, how brave!"

This is what happens when political ideology replaces your personality.

>Did kids even watch it?
Yes, with their parents too

Was even worth watching?

I just feel bad for all the artists who worked on it, because if nothing else, it LOOKS nice.

This show aired internationally, you know.

A former student of my History teacher was invinted to do a presentation for younger students interested in animation/vis dev at my art school earlier this year and this was apparently the latest project she has been working on. I'm sure that's quite literally the only reason I now of this things' existence to begin with.
It's saddening because she did stunning work for Klaus and Buñuel yet her talent has just been wasted on this.

I could definitely see all or part of this show one day being lost media. Hell that might arguably be the case as such right now.
