Why is this movie so popular on Any Forums? I found it very disappointing, the jokes were meh, some parts were honestly lame. Wasted potential, the characters are the only great thing about it

Don't tell me Shark hates this film too

As in the last animated film that deserved an award

>Academy Award
Cancer, meaningless, commercialized filth.

Cringe bro. Wind Rises; Kaguya-hime; When Marnie Was There should've won because they're better films. But not winning the Oscars is based because it's a plebby Hollywood circlejerk for losers and they don't deserve good films.

>it's bad because...it wasn't good

Oddly enough he actually liked it, it's probably the only genuinely good movie he's been obsessed with. Hopefully fucker has been banned again because he hasn't shown up in a couple weeks despite posting almost daily for years now.

Too much soul

For most if not each of these years there were an anime movie that btfo all western competition, only reason all this Disney-Pixar mush keep on winning is because animation age ghetto

2012's an interesting one because as much as it could just be "Fuck it, give it to Pixar again" in full effect, there were enough really good nominees there to legitimately split the vote.

remember that you don't need to consider the nominees user, you need to consider all the movies they didn't nominee as well

Inside your mind yes

How does "the competition being generally weaker" translate to a deserved win?

Because the idea is to award the best movie of each year?

I still wake up with the theme song stuck in my head sometimes

I tip my hat to it, one legend to another.
