>Dark Vador

Lol.

Squarepants was changed to Schwammkopf ("Sponge-head")
Squidward Tentacles became Taddäus Tentakel
CHip and Dale are now Chip & Chap, Gadget was renamed Trixie
Scrooge McDuck is Dagobert Duck, still one of the best name changes ever.
I never really got what made them change officer Jenny to "Officer Rocky", both are English names, Rocky sounds less fitting to her.
Brock became Rocko, fits much better.
Huey, Dewey and Louie became Tick, Trick and Track.

Also Zootopia became Zoomania for some reason

I can still remember how surprised I was when I was in England and found out they call him Scrooge McDuck and Huey, Dewey and Louie.

Ralph Wiggum is called Rafa Gorgory in mexican dub

Quebecois is Dark Vadeur

>SpongeBob (first name) Squarepants (last name) changed to Bob (first name) Esponja Pantalones Cuadrados (all last names)
>Mr. Krabs = Duncan Grejo (weird name change but ok)
>Joker = El Guasón
>Bruce Wayne = Bruno Díaz
>Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup = PETALO, BURBUJA, Y CACTUS
>Scrooge McDuck = Rico McPato (rico is "rich" so its fitting)

Same, but in the UK, Zootopia is called Zootropolis. I think it's for copyright reasons, because there was an old show called Zootopia.

The Kanker Sisters were changed into the Zusjes Drammer. Major reason is the fact Kanker is "cancer" in Dutch and an offensive word in Dutch culture. That's why they changed it.

The reason the French changed Moana to Vaiana is because there is a famous French porn star called Moana.
Also, Vaiana is a name which is common and representative of the French Polynesian maori culture. The name probably derives from the word ''Vahine'' or ''Wahine'' depending on spelling which means a ''woman''.

>in the UK, Zootopia is called Zootropolis
i got into an argument with my little sister over this and it turns out she was right it was called zootropolis on the sky store

>Phineas turned into Fineasz because it sounds better in Polish
>Doofenshmirtz turned into Dundersztyc
>I shit you not they changed Perry into Pepe (inb4 it was before the meme frog got popular so that only a coincidence)
>And to top everything of, they changed Candace to Fretka which in Polish literally means freaking "ferret". I know there's no name equivalent of Candance in Polish, but that's the most random name change I have seen

>Henri Hill
>I sell baguette et baguette accessories

Hank is short for Henry, his name wasn't technically changed

>Lupin III is Edgar de la Cambriole
Why?

>Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup = PETALO, BURBUJA, Y CACTUS
Lmao Bubbles is BURBUJA?

In Poland Double D was changed to Skinny Ed (Chudy Ed)

We already have Arsene Lupin (which Lupin III is probably inspired from). He is a famous boisterous thief, that had a lot of popular books and stories written on. I don't remember if he is a fictional character or based to some extent on a real French thief. He's the definition of flair and finesse, when it comes to stealing, from what I remember seeing in media growing up.

Didn't you guys also call Piccolo as "Satan's Little Heart"?

I understand changing punny or meaningful names, but why change stuff like Hank Hill or Bruce Wayne? American people have American names, changing that just makes it weird.

Why not simply keep Candace's name? It sounds good and is pretty unique.
Also since the charaters clearly are American and that is also not hidden why should they not have American names?

Also in Poland they changed Kim Possible into Kim Kolwiek (kimkolwiek = anyone/whoever) and Ron Stoppable into Ross Rabiaka (rozrabiaka = rascal). One change I like is that they turned Shego into Strzyga, which is like a demon from Slavic mythology

Polish version also had that because it was based on French translation instead of the original Japanese or even English. Did they also changed Goku into Songo? (because you know: SON GOku, that's so stupid).

Don't ask me, man, I didn't work on the dub.

>Papa Smurf became Veliki Štrumpf, Brainy became Kefalo, Clumsy became Trapavko, Grouchy became Mrgud, Jokey became Šaljivko, Smurfette became Štrumpfeta, Hefty became Gruber and others
