American animators, and workers in general, are overpaid and spoiled. In Japan you can get better work done for 20% the price and send Yakuza to disappear any uppity worker who dares demand something like a Union, a vacation, or a maternity leave.
Naturally it leads to Japan offering all around better products.

Anime character design is extreme bland and holds so little recognition only weebs can tell them apart.
At least Peter Griffin is easily recognizable, even to someone who doesn't watch Family Guy.
The dragon girl is a literally who tier outside niche twitter/insta spaces and Any Forums, due to how poor and basic the character design is.
Peter Griffin alone (for example) has a better character design than all anime from the last 50 years.

Western content is consitently better than Eastern, even including the mediocre stuff like Steven Universe or Fan Boy and Chum Chum. All around, even in recent times, the West still produces better stuff and overall in history completely better media than Japan.
