not this update (also, nta) but the previous update definitely was just to help fund his friend's furry porn game. what we're getting now is the result of "it'd be a dick move to stop updating again now" guilt fueling kaz
who knows how long it'll last, or whether it'll last long enough for him to either get back in the groove of updating for the story and his enjoyment's sake or admitting he's done and taking katia behind the shed

it's not an "and in turn", it's an "if"
really, you're missing my point: it's not about the reason kaz got out of his slump being pure or whatever, it's about whether his motivation will have either enough strength or lasting power to bring about a state of certainty instead of a year and a half of uncertain promises that updates would be coming "soon".
a friend needing some help for a deadline is as temporary as it gets, and guilt does fade
so while I am grateful that something (anything!) finally got kaz on the move, it is also way too soon to be optimistic and expect anything more than a dead cat bounce
for all we know we might end up in a five year hiatus next, and would have been better off with kaz actually and finally calling it quits rather than allow temporary circumstances to make him think and everyone else he's back before returning to a slump
getting the update is not necessarily a good thing
