See, this is a little detail in all these comics. Some ethnicities are 1:1 with animal species, and others aren't. All horses are Native Americans.

Skin color also roughly correlates with fur color. Blacksad himself has mostly black, but some white fur, so he's mixed. That's from another comic, though.
