What's weird is that the beginning of Grayson's run was honestly better than Dixon's run. Her characterization of some Dixon villains were better too, like Shrike and Lady Vic's. Some say her characterization of Babs was too jealous and shrewd, but honestly Dixon and Simone also made Babs a jealous shrew (she dismisses Kory as a potential partner solely on the grounds her history with Dick), it's just all the attention Grayson put on her was focused on making her shrewd.
I reread it recently and honest to god it was like a switch was flipped in #83, the first issue after the little arc of Deathstroke trying to kill his cop friend. That is where the misery porn started and the tone of the book drastically changed.
