>mediocre "white" guy
>extreme self loathing
>lusts after cute asian girl

It's the dram equivilant of a sitcom where there's a baseline state it always bounces back to after stretching it in one direction. You could say it's committed to being normal.

Woops

watch F is for Family or Moral Orel instead, this is just Californians patting each other's backs

I was extremely indifferent about the show the first few episodes. Show doesn’t really get its footing until the middle of season 1 or a little after that.

It’s a good show. For me, the hardest part was an episode where a character says “suck a dick, dumbshits” a few times over in an episode.

There’s lots of waifus too.

Get of the internet, Martin Scorsesse.

The main thing that pisses me off is that the cat isn't even 1% as sexy as the cat from Infinity Train. Put me right off.

>there's a baseline state it always bounces back to
did you even watch the show? this is what bojack thinks, not how sad horse show actually works. bojack thinks his antics don't have consequences but they always do, sometimes seasons later

I felt the way you did and kept watching and I regret it. You should drop it. Literally the entire show is whiney despondent hipster "I'm depressed so I'm downward spiraling and downward spiraling makes me depressed" forever.

The first season is notoriously inconsistent and you should consider sticking it through until the end of season 1 and go from there
I understand not liking Bojack but your description of the show is inaccurate which makes me think you didn't actually watch it. Plus your suggestions to an alternative are pretty shitty and unsatisfying.

It runs in a cycle and they just rant it for as many seasons as they could get away with to keep themselves in work.

That's a sexy Daria. Too bad she got fat.

I don't really see how this invalidates what I said
it's made clear again and again that bojack thinks reality works like in horsin' around. this is either a coping mechanism or just a result of his alcoholism and drug abuse

There aren't complex consequences of the plotlines in this show. Stuff comes in and then goes when it's been used up, like the owl chick. Sarah Lynn dying seems like an exception, but she only appeared a couple of times so it's not like there's a huge difference between "before" and "after" this event.

true. bojack also gets away with a lot of shit, but that might be because he's rich
agreed

This show is a paper bag.

Imagine how based this show could of been if Bojack ran off with Penny instead of getting caught fooling around in the fucking driveway and they went around the country fucking shit up like Bonnie and Clyde.
Of course that would be too alpha for the self hating low t writers, but still fun to imagine :)

I mean this is basically what happens when bojack and sarah lynn go on that bender. until she dies of course

>bojack also gets away with a lot of shit, but that might be because he's rich
It rarely invokes this idea. Shit just happens and then goes away. How often does Bojack use his wealth to solve problems or how often does he get unasked for favors from people trying to curry favor? He's a has-been.

There's a lot more going on under the surface that you might not catch at first. I was surprised at how deep the show could get at times. There's a lot of social commentary that shits on hollywood and celebrity culture, which I can respect. They also really go all out with the wordplay and background gags.

There's also a lot of pretty clever visual metaphor. Pic related.

The show gets a lot better in the 2nd and 3rd seasons. If you aren't sold on the show after seeing the drug trip episode (S1E11), though, Bojack might just not be the show for you.
