Batman: The Animated Series
Superman: The Animated Series

Why was there never Wonder Woman: The Animated Series. Could it work today?

JL/JLU was more peak, but I get your point

I don't know why there never was one desu. If I had to guess it's just because Wonder Woman is straight up less popular than Bats and Superman. It could work today if the right team was behind it although with the current state of DC I would doubt it.

There was almost a Bruce Timm-produced Catwoman The Animated Series but it never came to be.

Also Boyd Kirkland wanted to make Wonder Woman The Animated Series in the 90s but it got passed on multiple times

But for some reason Igaf about Caped Crusader

From dcau.fandom.com/wiki/Bat-embargo:
>The Wonder Woman embargo:
>Bruce Timm admitted in an interview shown on the first season DVD that he initially ran into some legal issues once he told Warner Bros. that he wanted to use Wonder Woman for the series. He was eventually successful in being able to use the character for the show, but later other animated series ran into similar road-blocks preventing the use of both the Wonder Woman character as well as established Wonder Woman supporting characters, like Cheetah and Steve Trevor. Although it was never clear which was one of the main reasons of this embargo, it's believed that it could have been the production of the Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman, which was ultimately never made.

It's the peak of television animation in general.

Two Face and Joker had the best episodes

Really feel like Spawn: The Animated Series should be included here.

It doesn't even embrace the look of comic books.

What the fuck are you on about?
Pretending like TAS didn't incorporate the best of the Golden and Bronze age to create the ultimate Batman atmosphere is pure retardation.

it doesnt have floatng words or panels and thought bobbles like spiderverse had

Selina got fucked over hard in BTAS, they practically gave her personality to Barbara in Batman Adventures. Also I love Adrienne Barbeau but her voice doesn't suit the character
Maybe if they could've retooled her character to be more like the Pfeiffer portrayal an animated series could of worked in another life

The series creates a solid Fleischer style pseudo noir but it fails to tap into the true comicbooky-ness of the characters.
The show pays more homage to old school animation than the old school comic books, which is fine, but turning our boi Batmite into animatronic puppet is a classic example of the realism overcorrection that was going on and is still going on with the character.

They probably thought that boys wouldn't watch a Wonder Woman cartoon, and also probably thought that girls weren't into comic book heroes. Sailor Moon proved that it could've worked, but it just didn't happen.

This in the hands of Cooke would work so fucking well. I miss the guy like you wouldn't believe.
