Actually according to a rumor in an attempt to get a better foothold in Japan like Netflix does they're actually opening a branch of the network dedicated to Japanese stuff, not just anime but also Kaiju films. So not only is Godzilla likely still on, but they're gonna have the old films on as well.

As far as I know, all the Showa films, save maybe King Kong vs Godzilla because apparently the rights to it are a fuckfest, are on HBOMax from their criterion versions. The real nice thing would be to get the Heisei and Millennium movies with good quality, even if not Showa criterion tier, visuals and subs. You can sort of fuck around to get them now in almost tolerable quality, but it was a real goddamn pain to do so.
