Roiland says Rick & Morty season 6 will be a ‘return to form’

>“Season 5 was a weird one,” Roiland admitted, saying that it was “tough” due to losing Mendel. “We were thrown for a loop. That was... yeah. If I talk anymore, I’ll start crying.”
>Looking forward, Roiland offered that this season will see the show get back into the rhythm of what it’s all about. “It really rewards fans of the show that have been watching up to this point...It really is a f*cking quality season.” The season is said to be “a bit more canonical,” for those who are invested in the series’ lore, but newcomers can still expect a handful of point of entry episodes, if they just happen to be tuning in one random night.

I stopped watching after season 2. At that point, the show really couldnt offer anything interesting that wasn't already established. not to mention it became a circle jerk of Rick. That's why reddit worshiped this show, they all desired to be ricks when in reality they were lower than Jerry.

This is cool that Justin owned up to it. Season 5 sucked but if season 6 is quality like he says I'll be happy.

>The season is said to be “a bit more canonical,” for those who are invested in the series’ lore

Seems promising, it'll at least give it less time to be like S5's episodic crap

I call bullshit at how bad it got after season 2 and being very openly hating both the show and audience since they love to smell their own farts.

Why would anyone take his word? Let alone anyone's word in Hollywood about a show/season that has yet to air.
They are just trying to sell it, regardless of the true quality.
Why is entertainment such a trashy world?

Weird the show is going back to more canon stuff. 5 was a bad season but the finale was a really great way to wrap up all of the arcs they've been kinda half-assing.

I thought Justin only voiced the characters these days, that he was out of the writers room

Will we get space Beth?

No he's fucking black women now so he needs the paycheck

It really didn't resolve much, just introduced a lot of new shit to the mix. It definitely revealed a lot but that just creates more questions

Didn't they joke about "real Rick & Morty adventures" in one of the seasons? Seems as plausible as Kevin Smith promising the next season of He-Man won't be ass.

I thought Bill Burr was a lesson to everyone

Rick and Morty is boring.

I mean it got over the Evil Morty stuff.
It reunited Rick and Morty
It told audiences to shut up about Rick origins its not that interesting he had a dead wife end of story.

I dont know what else they would explore in terms of canon like that.

cool racisim user your so edgy

a return to what form, S1-2 or 3-4?

Its funny how pissy Roiland got over lorefags and people trying to have conversation about the show that isn't just fagshit memery, to the point that he sperged out and just finished as many plot threads as he could.

Rick & Morty has probably gone beyond the point of redemption now thanks to omnipotent Rick and shitty meta humor that occasionally is targeted at the viewer. Just look at the stark contrast between first episode Rick and now: He was a buffoon, wasn't always in control of the situation, and it helped with the stakes and comedy simultaneously. Probably the biggest thing that turned me off from the series was Vinidcators (havent seen the show, just referencing their original episode). Harmon thought he was hot shit making fun of capeshit, yet lacked the self-awareness that his fanbase/show was no better, didn't do anything clever with the episode, and ironically instead made pretty neat characters only to use them in a mean spirited plot. But I digress, R&M just got up its own ass at some point

No it wont.

Its been too infected by fandom input at this point.

I trust him. They’ve been trying to rediscover the identity. Hope to see it return. And more Summer service, thanks Justin.

>I mean it got over the Evil Morty stuff.

Got over?

>It reunited Rick and Morty

I'd hardly use the term "reunited" considering they had Rick arbitrarily split off from Morty to roleplay with crows as the main conflict...

>It told audiences to shut up about Rick origins its not that interesting he had a dead wife end of story.

To be honest, I'm perfectly happy with that backstory myself

This. He's more or less obligated to pump the season up. You'll never see someone be like "yeah...we kind of shit the bed with this season because Harmon got divorced and he used the show as his personal therapy while his drinking spiraled further out of control, but check it out anyway".
The season might actually not suck but there's no way to know without watching it. Only an idiot would take Roiland's word for it.

What happened to Bill Burr?

That was intentionally stripped away in the last episode and the first thing Justin said about the season was “my bad” and “we’re not gonna shit on fans”.

Since when? I honestly haven't heard anything about Roiland's relationships at all since he was dating Abbie Maley years ago (the porno actress).
