The Childless Millennials stopped going to the parks
was thor that bad?
Went: WOKE
Gone: BROKE
Glad the groomer company is dying.
you say that but in their dining swan song their going to by something you care about and lobby congress to extend copyright again
BUY THE DIP
Probably a mix of parks still not being fully attended and a series of disappointing theatrical and television releases.
but but Any Forums told me blackrock would pump the woke stocks.
>dining swan song
Sounds tasty
This isn't crypto or penny stocks. Just buy. Time in the market > timing the market. Stocks only go up.
lol
>WOKE
>BROKE
>GROOMER
Polly want a cracker?
Groomer companies don't get to have high value stocks. We're all on to you Disneys. We will never forget.
This feels like a time to buy. I'm seeing earnings per share that failed to meet expectations, but parks and Disney+ overperforming.
Overall, their actual revenue isn't crazy different from previous years, and thus unless it was way too overvalued before it seems like this is a good time to buy.
>imagine being a fan of Disney
Go woke get broke.
>This feels like a time to buy. I'm seeing earnings per share that failed to meet expectations, but parks and Disney+ overperforming.
Midterm elections covid lockdowns are coming to shut down the parks again. Get ready and prepare accordingly.
*shrugs*
>groomer
retard
But Disney isn't broke?
No is Disney woke either, they're a multimedia company and are incapable of being anything more then that.
ok boomer
See
Record profits
Oh no disney was a giant paper tiger coasting off of success of people who lived 40 years ago and has literally nothing going for it other than nostalgia that's rapidly being overdrawn as people realize they can live without it in their lives.
Who could have seen this coming?
Even then, the question isn't "will it go down further in the near term" as much as is it undervalued long term. There's no timing the market, but you can find good deals in a bear market.
The irony is you got that from reddit.
I wonder if they even have enough political capital to do that anymore. Last time their "Please write us a nostalgia check for another 15 years" card was a bipartisan effort and passed without issue. This time they have potent political enemies on both sides of the aisles: Democrats who hate them because they own Fox and Republicans who hate them because they share different political ideologies.
If it were even five years ago I would say "definitely yes" but now I'm not so sure. Money can only buy political favoritism for so long, and they can see that they're collapsing from within.
Disney's only venture isn't movies and TV shows, so it's obviously just the economy sucking as a whole that's pushing them down and not some "woke" boogeyman.
>publicly traded company stock is nosediving
That's the very definition of going broke. These companies don't have liquid capital laying around, their wealth is in their asset value so they can borrow against it and if your asset value drops, so does the amount of money you can borrow.
Every single company says this to keep stockholders from lynching their CEOs. Enron reported record profits as their own CEOs were being dragged out of their offices and into jail cells.
If you cook the books right, you can report any loss as a profit.
I didn't believe it, but it's actually correct.
DIS is down -38% YTD, -46% over the past year, and -38% in the last 6 months. Second place is Nike
The shittiest performing stock in the S&P500 is, to no one's surprise, NFLX
Yeah but that's one year and the economy is tanking in general. Remember Disney doesn't just do movies. They have cruise lines, theme parks, merch out the fucking ass, like half the premium cable channels that exist. They're fucking huge. This dip is because every single sector of the economy that isn't entertainment has been crippled by Covid and the fallout from the world's complete failure to respond to it adequately, AND they've failed to be entertaining on top of that.
They're fucking huge. They're not going to just disappear, because they have hands in every pie. They'll continue to grow over time.
I'd wager nobody's actually betting against Disney directly, they're just selling off mutual funds and stock bundles that just happen to have Disney IN them because the DOW is falling like a fucking stone and the smart move was to get the fuck out of the market 3 months ago.
Good morning sir
>Stocks only go up.
Survivorship bias. You don't remember the truckload of public companies that have gone bust
And reddit got it from facebook.
Yes I go to /r/terriblefacebookmemes too.
>Disney's only venture isn't movies and TV shows
But they make movies and TV Shows?
Let's just face facts and admit what we all know
Fewer and fewer people want what Disney is offering. No one wants to go on cruise liners anymore, no one wants to go to overpriced theme parks that suck. No one wants to go on Star Wars Hotels that cost 3000 a night.
Nobody
wants these things
Covid really accelerated the inevitable: The boomers who used to buy these things getting a dose of reality and realizing that they can have just as much fun on their own without Disney.
And movies and TV shows? Bitch they own one of hte largest streaming platforms, if it's underperforming it's because nobody wants what is on it
They functionally own legacy media and most entertainment. At this point they could essentially create and fund an entire new party called "Guns and Healthcare" and destroy both the GOP and the Dems with nothing but 24 hour bad press any election they choose to. I can't see either party winning a public opinion war with Disney. How could they?
>Democrats who hate them because they own Fox
Disney doesn't own Fox News though.
Shit i'd vote for that. I want guns and healthcare. Throw in some environmentalism and an increase to minimum wage and I'm sold.
youtu.be
It is true, and the stock market is rigged you silly pleb.
Ok groomer.
Ok groomer.
This one really strikes a nerve in the brainwashed ones.
>Now watch them rush to defend James Gunn's pedophile "jokes" as "just silly harmless jokes!" in fact, they will say that I am actually the evil one, because I don't understand this silly humor.
>Midterm elections covid lockdowns are coming
What are you babbling about?
>That's the very definition of going broke
Is it though? Am I supposed to trust anything you see when this is just a Any Forums shitpost thread? What is it this time guys, the January 6th trial?
>"It's just silly harmless jokes user! Don't you dare take away my Guardians of the Galaxy movies, even though I hate Chris Pratt for some reason."
Like the other guy said Disney doesn't own Fox News, they own Fox Entertainment Group, which is a completely different company. Fox News is owned by News Corp, a british company owned by Rupert Murdoch. They also own several other news outlets, such as Sky News Australia, but strangely not any other Sky News.
