Woke mob is now targeting Paws of Fury

>spends overwhelming of time whining about not only the movie was apparently “problematic” and racist, but how even the original Blazing Saddles was also inherently problematic and racist, instead of reviewing the actual fucking movie

oh no
anyways

What happens in it exactly.

Why do people fall so hard for ragebait like the article in the OP? No one actually gives a shit about what a "journalist" has to say, you're a moron for thinking they represent any group when all they wanna do is make people mad so they click and share their articles for revenue, as you're doing now.

>Even in a cartoon, someone like Hank being oppressed in some exotic land is exactly the kind of toxic online strawman that is morally reprehensible for a studio to turn that into a motion picture in 2022. But by failing to exhibit any trace of affinity or reverence to Asian culture, martial arts or any of its narrative touchpoints, Paws Of Fury also exemplifies the worst kind of cultural appropriation. There’s no consultant listed in the credits, nor is there evidence that any research of that sort went into the screenplay or the animation

>No one actually gives a shit about what a "journalist" has to say
Then who's hiring these people?

>Woke mob
What specific demographics of people are a part of the woke mob?

I'm genuinely amazed it took them this fucking long, also OP is a faggot for posting this

What did Tucker Carlson say? "My problem is with white, affluent women"? Yeah...

Paramount and especially Nickelodeon is doing a fucking terrible job promoting it, so that’s why

>Even in a cartoon, someone like Hank being oppressed in some exotic land is exactly the kind of toxic online strawman that is morally reprehensible for a studio to turn that into a motion picture in 2022.
So it's irresponsible for a studio to make a movie pushing the false, racist narrative that an American (portrayed as a dog) would be discriminated against in Japan (portrayed as a country of cats). There is literally no evidence of anyone ever being discriminated against against except in America. To suggest it happens anywhere else is racist.

How do the AV Club people think this makes sense?

As someone who previously was friends with a "current year journalist". These people are all under the age of 45 and older than 25. They believe that their opinions are never wrong. Regardless of the topic.
Due to how many journalists with that mindset I previously mentioned. It would only take a few years to have them infect video games, music, movies, shows, etc.
This is what happened as all journalism began a downward spiral around the mid-2010s if not earlier.

\
i see yer point - but the japanese are a very humble and welcoming people I speak from experience here

if the cats were french? fully accurate those cunts are seriously racist fuckwits to anyone who isnt french, especially if youre english speaking

>but the japanese are a very humble and welcoming people I speak from experience here

My nigga no they aren’t, if your tourist maybe
But even then, if you have skin tone that’s not white, they treat you like a threat lmao

Blazing Saddles worked because it also mocked those racist beliefs and had nuance, and had Richard Pryor work on the script. All which this cartoon apparently lacks.

I literally got racially profiled in Tokyo because I was a white guy who looked out of place at the garment district that I was walking in. It wasn't even two minutes after I stepped out of the train station that a group of cops immediately swarmed me and asked my ID. Sure, they were fairly polite but it was weird as fuck how they immediately felt the need to question me about how long I was staying, etc.

So do these people have influence or not?

I keep hearing conflicting opinions on weather they have the power to shape cukture, or no pne gives a shit about them.

Oneof you is lying or delusional, and I have a feeling I'm not going to get a straight answer.

Hank is now the mascot of the “it’s okay to be white” movement confirmed

>but the japanese are a very humble and welcoming people
Japan's suicide rates would like to have a word with you

They have influence but a better example would be that these journalists are like how a large wave would influence a person standing in its way. You'll lose balance and might get knocked down only to stand back up and move on.
People react to the headlines due to how outrageous they are. People never read the articles to form an opinion about the subject matter itself.

Am I the only one who thinks this is an anti-competitive measure? Comics Code affected the market and made it difficult for people to work

>Woke mob
cringe fragile white incel

You could have watched The House, Mad God, The Summit of the Gods, Where Is Anne Frank, or Josep. Instead you're simping for a cynical abomination remake of one of the greatest films of all time. Does this make you happy?

They have power because they can forge a consensus.
Imagine you're a Hollywood executive, you have a 5 minutes during the day which isn't taken up by doing cocaine, fucking actresses or talking to your legal team about how to keep ahead of that Epstein business. You want to make another billion dollars to blow up your nose, you grab a bunch of articles telling you what's popular and what to make, you know the fucking pigs'll eat whatever slop you put out.
Each and every one of them says the same thing, more diversity, more progressive talking points, less white men, empowered womynx are the hot new thing. It even mentions an up and coming director who's the hottest shit and for some reason is wearing a dress despite having a beard.
You take a hit off the cock of your thai ladyboy secretary and call in one of the assistants
>Get me 20 swarthy negroes, we're gonna make a film! And
Then go back to getting your morning BJ because if you don't get that done by fucking god you're going to do a homicide.
12 months later it comes out, your big hit.
Except there's one little problem. It's shit, it's Max Bialystock tier dross and no one likes it except the self-same critics that first talked you into this Boondoggle, who cover for you by calling everyone a racist because your protagonist is a black transwomynx who punches old white men.
You can do this a few times of course, but eventually Joe Public twigs and now you're in real trouble because the only support you have left is those critics and they'll turn on you in a second if you stop pandering to them.
And now your work is being used to pitch to other producers.

If everyone told the critic-class to fuck right off then they'd be powerless because their power is, once all is said and done, found in consensus.
But as it is they can steer the discourse and create a gate between people making things and people that consume those things. They can shape culture. No one gives a shit about the individual members of the media class themselves, but as a group they can trim the overton window to a arrow slit.
Anyone telling you no one gives a shit and they're powerless is a gaslighting whore trying to get you to ignore the elephant in the room.

It is impossible for white people to be "oppressed" or "discriminated" against, you moron.
Racism = privilege + power

Apparently not even the reviewers care about that, so you and I probably shouldn't either.

racism isnt the same as discrimination you dumb nincompoop

White supremacy confirmed, then? That seems to be the implication.

80% of the asian population is either immigrants or the children of immigrants we can solve the problem by deporting them back to their ethnostates where white people and black people are made fun of for being weird foreigners instead. Everyone wins.
