I think it really helps that pacifica started out a bitch with Hirsch even saying he intended her to be nothing more. Her episode with Dupper is just so fucking perfect I love how both of them are in their element and feel so natural you could totally see them as a couple.

I get what you mean. I give Dipcifica the credit that, unlike most of those, where the nerd already has feelings for the girl, or is to shy to even interact with her, Dipper had no issue quarreling and calling Pacifica out on her shit, way before they started getting along.
I'm not saying that, itself, is innovative, mind you. But it still isn't as common as one may think.

if life provided all of our emotional needs we wouldnt feel the need to write fiction in the first place
