Villain romances

How often do we see Any Forums villains in love like these guys?
(Yes, you could say Entrapta was never a villain but engineered machines for planetary conquest because getting respect and love for her skills trumped abstract ethics.)

I'd say she was a villain while working with the Horde.
She does fit the "good ally turned to the dark side" tragic villain archetype except Entrapta doesn't hold grudges.

The Rebellion didn't fail her by accidentally abandoning her, but they did fail her by not being able to connect enough with her. So it was logical for Entrapta to think they got fed up and abandoned her. Because aside from Adora, everyone else seemed to tolerate her at best. They were never friends.

Exactly. Even when she rejoins them because they found her on Beast Island and she realizes Hordak's been taken, she gets treated like a problem to the mission by rebels 10+ years her junior, to the point of physical restraining her.

Honestly, I always liked the Horde over the rebels. Even Catra in all of her desperation and madness.

Same for me.

I prefer unrequited love where the woman is pinning for the man. And the man teases affection.

Doesn't help Entrapta is a much developed character than either Mermista or Perfuma who didn't treat her welleven before she changed sides.

The horde characters like Scorpia and Entrapta had more quirks, and flaws that got explored in various episdes.

Mermista's angst over losing her kingdom is mostly treated as joke and Perfuma has a more intolerant and judgemental side that could have been more interesting outside of her focus episode in the Crimson Waste.

Instead both come off as more superficial. Which is kind of a shame.

>Preferring the Horde over the rebels
Wait, were we not supposed to do this? I thought that was the big joke of the series; that the 'bad guys' were willing to come to grips with their personal flaws and try to find a solution while the good guys mostly faffed about and tried to maintain a facade of normalcy.
Good guys:
>glim glam is angry and rebellious until she is forced on the throne, where she still tries to force her way
>2nd best boy bow plays peacemaker
>Flower trans lesbian focuses on being 'calm' instead of finding solutions
>Angel queen is the Neville Chamberlain of Etheria
>Mermaid is apathetic and only pays attention when her D (best boy pirate) is around
>Nothing is wrong with Ice Princess, more problems should be solved by punches
>best boy pirate-man (trans?) over excited, doesn't listen to others
Bad guys:
>Entrapta 10/10 best character, best princess, best speeches, best overalls, best overall, follows her passions, and forgives freely
>Hordak realizes he is his own person, starts listening to the advice of others, learns to accept help
>Scorpia realizes the way catra treats her is not ok, and she deserves respect
>Kyle eventually escapes, becomes a beastmaster after a three way ending with lizard and ape
>catra learns how to get along with others (kind of, not really), but earlier on at least accepted the fact she was broken (acceptance is the first step). hashtag girlboss

>Angel queen is the Neville Chamberlain of Etheria

Angella was one of the more interesting characters in the Alliance. I would have preferred more moments with her bonding with Adora or exploring the fact she is supposed to be immortal rather than have her and Glimmer shout and misunderstand eachother a lot

>Entrapta 10/10 best character, ... best overalls, best overall,
I chuckled.

Perfuma was an odd case of being a worse character than the one-episode wonder in the 80s original with its hyper-episodic shortcomings. She's completely unafraid of the military dictator of most of Etheria, even trying to be friends/flirt(?) ... but what Watsonian reason does he have for not killing her? Would her plant powers stop him, or is he afraid of killing a single Rebel Adora knows because he sees her defecting from him as just her teenage rebellion phase and doesn't want to lose her forever by doing something she wouldn't eventually forgive?

Glimmer was at her best when she briefly went mad queen in season 4.

NGL, I didn't understand her whole 'immortality' bit. It was definitely one of those 'tell, don't show things'
What events did she witness? Does she have other children? If not, why not? Was Glimmah adopted? Was wizard-man's D just that good? It would be like mentioning Adora as the tootsie pop licking champion, only to use it to explain why Catra likes her so much. The fact that Agnella was immortal was only brought up to make S3 a gut punch, but it didn't land because the immortality had no consequence besides that scene

This, the immortality didn't add anything to Angella's character or the world. It was mostly used for Glimmer to complain about how perfect her Mom is

>Was wizard-man's D just that good?

Probably yes. Micah was a chad

I was talking about mutual love, not a villain threatening his morally pure crush.

This is just Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd again.

... huh, kind of. Both R & Z were passionate about of conquering though, while Entrapta is a shut-in mad scientist and it's that side of Hordak that bonds with her.

Another interesting question would be what happened to the rest of her race, and if she is the last one.

Also if Angella is supposed to be kmmortal, does this mean Glimmer will inherit her Mom's longevity and outlive all her friends?

>Also if Angella is supposed to be kmmortal, does this mean Glimmer will inherit her Mom's longevity and outlive all her friends?

This show had underexplained worldbuilding.

There was a lot of that. Or at least it hinted at potential storylines that never played out. Like Adora wanted to know about where she came from and find out about her real family, and the audience was on board as well on that. But then we never really find out about it and the reason was because "found family" or something like that, but all it does is leave the audience with blue balls

the only reason to watch the this show

Exactly
