Dick (or his writers) choose the strangest times to have him channel Bruce. He of all people should know it's not so easy as just putting down the cape or just turning off that desire to make a difference. He's been trying to escape Batman's shadow his entire adult life and has never considered living another way seriously. I like Nightwing and I hate it when they write him as an asshole for no good reason.
