I loved watching Mysteries Cities of Gold on Nickelodeon in the afternoons. As well as Spartakus and The Sun Beneath The Sea

Anyone else remember the parts of each episode where they'd show some random mundane thing happening, but like in slow mo with trippy music that made you relax?

I love the French version, but I swear it sounds like kids and young teens are voicing them.

I wish that person who subbed the first 3 episodes for a uni project did the whole thing.

>know the show never had an ending
>years later find out the plan was for each season to focus on a different city
>one for each continent
>SEVEN fucking seasons
They dreamt big, I'll give them that.

I remember seeing this exactly one time as a kid since I think it was on HBO and it was a free weekend or some shit, and it felt like a fever dream and nobody had any idea what I was talking about when I tried to explain it since nobody has ever seen it and no one was in the room with me

At least they got four seasons out of it. Wish the fourth wasn't so rushed because of having to find the last four cities before the end.

I remember a few Claymation specials. People seem to only remember the Mark Twain one or the California Raisins ones. But there were quite a few more.

>Spartakus and The Sun Beneath The Sea

how have I never even heard of this. i used to watch Nick at the babysitters, i distinctly remember early nick jr with maya the bee and eureka's castle... i guess we were never watching TV in the afternoon.

The one I remember most is the Christmas special with the T. rex and Styracosaurus hosts that had several different skits. The "We Three Kings" one was always my favorite.

You may remember this show, but are you a big enough nerd to import the French-only art book from Europe?

It's actually because it predates that: it was 80s Nick, and it aired in the early morning (6 or 7am times). So few watched, and those who did were like "wait, was that even real?"

It was quite a trip.

It was on the 1986-1987 Nickelodeon.

God man. I've seen a few episodes and even I would have a hard time explaining it.

And yes I can confirm the entire show is like a fever dream.

I always loved the English theme song if Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea.

God, my childhood right there. Love both this theme and the Menudo theme.
