Depending on which version of the character gets genderswap the answer could wildly differ.
Let say the Shazam Movie had a female lead, what would change? what would a young girl do if she suddenly became older and got super powers to boot? I don't know I'm not a little girl.
That being said I could see one plotpoint in the story changing and that is female Billy (Milly?) using her adult appearance to look for her mom, since being family would mean they look alike.
Maybe someone casually confuse her with her mom and that is the lead that takes her to find her.
In the case of Gravity Falls swapping the genders of the leads actually makes the show more average, shows with dumb boy an smart girl are a dime a dozen, Kim Possible, Tuff Puppy, Billy and Mandy and Ben10 to name a few.

If you think about it the reason why Carol seems to be hated by the comicbook fans seems to be because she is written like a man, think about it, she is rude , sadistic, a drunk and lacks self awareness.

I feel like female yanderes/bad girls are never done 111:111 to male yanderes/bad boys.
The bad boys simply appear as more confident, charismatic, collected, intelligent even when they screech, even when they say the dumbest most naive inane trash possible known to mankind, because it all depends on the voice timbre.
Very few female voices don't sound naturally babyish, whiny or cold. When they do stop sounding like a whiny baby they sound too indifferent, older female voices all sound like those old hag teachers. They need to force a specific tone to stay both mature yet playful without going full creep mode and trust me older women voices can sound insanely creepy.
Same problem honestly with female comedians, it's about your voice. Not your role in society, not the content of your joke(albeit often times your voice is a dead-giveaway for your personality.)
