Looks like those leaks about the reshoots were accurate

Looks like those leaks about the reshoots were accurate.

I wish they had rewritten/reshot more.

which strange was supreme strange

I missed those threads, could anyone fill me on the reshoot leaks said?

That guy in OP pic. The 838 one.

He was a hero though. Save his universe from Thanos and his ungrateful teammates killed him for it.

>The original opening featured 616 Mordo attacking Wanda at her cabin for breaking the natural order in Westview and chasing her into the forest, where Wanda manages to defeat him. Mordo vows to never stop chasing Wanda. Wanda coldly says "I know" and decapitates Mordo.

>The chase in the space between universes originally began with Defender Strange and Defender Wong arriving there with America Chavez in search of the Book of Vishanti. A demon suddenly appears, kills Defender Wong and begins chasing Defender Strange and America.

>Wong originally attended Christine Palmer’s wedding as Strange's plus-one since Strange had no one else to take, and had a great time, eating and dancing with the other guests while Strange remains miserable.

>America originally led Strange and Wong to Defender Strange’s body before going to the pizza parlor, and it would have been in an alleyway and later kept at the Sanctum.

>Strange and America originally had a much more adversarial relationship. Strange did not like America and only wanted to find a way to take America’s power without killing her, and America did not like Strange due to his arrogance despite being out of his element dealing with the Multiverse. Test-audiences disliked their interactions, so most of their scenes were reshot.

>The pizza parlor interrogation was reshot after Strange and America’s dynamic was altered and test-audiences said they did not need the Multiverse concept explained to them again, and also to reference Spider-Man. It was also moved to before Strange and Wong find Defender Strange’s body.

>Strange’s original character arc was about his obsession with “holding the knife”. He was not remorseful for the consequences of the Blip, truly believing it was the only way to stop Thanos, and was also eager to take America’s power, viewing himself as the one best fit to control it. Learning of Supreme Strange’s sacrifice and Sinister Strange’s corruption made him realize his arrogance and decide to trust in America in the final battle rather than take her power.

>The Minotaur Rintrah originally welcomed Strange and Wong at Kamar-Taj, where Wong assigns him to protect America. Rintrah bonds with America and tells her that he was also an outcast before finding a home and a purpose in Kamar-Taj.

>There was a romance between Wong and Sara, the sorceress who sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold.

>Strange and America’s interactions while looking for Earth-838’s Sanctum were added in reshoots, including their encounter with Pizza Poppa and them stepping on the memory pads.

>Supreme Strange originally sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos, causing Strange to blame himself for not finding another way.

>Reshoots added the concept of Supreme Strange having been corrupted by the Darkhold and accidentally caused an incursion, for which he was executed by the Illuminati, who then fabricated the tale of his sacrifice to defeat Thanos.

>Michael Waldron reveals he was never going to write a good movie from the start
Damn but why?

>The pizza parlor interrogation was reshot after Strange and America’s dynamic was altered and test-audiences said they did not need the Multiverse concept explained to them again, and also to reference Spider-Man
Test Audience: We already went through this not even half a year ago. Also please talk about Spider-Man

>The Illuminati were originally formed by Mordo, Charles Xavier, Peggy Carter, Maria Rambeau and Balder, Thor’s older brother and an arrogant, bloodthirsty warrior who is disliked by the others. Balder, Carter and Rambeau confront Wanda when she attacks the compound and Balder begins making a speech about how the Illuminati are invincible, during which an unimpressed Wanda bewitches him into stabbing himself with his own sword. Carter and Rambeau’s reactions to Wanda killing Reed Richards and Black Bolt were filmed with Balder in mind, hence why they do not appear to care. Everybody hated Balder.

>Daniel Craig was set to play Balder, in reference to him being the original choice for Thor in the MCU, but he backed out due to COVID. The scene was filmed with only Hayley Atwell and Lashana Lynch, and after considering several alternatives, Marvel decided to replace Balder with Richards and Black Bolt. John Krasinski and Anson Mount filmed their scenes during reshoots and were spliced into the original footage. They never met Elizabeth Olsen on set.

>Sinister Strange was originally corrupted by the Darkhold while seeking more power, and planned to leave Strange behind in his ruined universe to travel to Earth-616 and continue his dark experiments.

>The conversation about Donna Strange was added in reshoots.

>The musical battle between Stranges was added in reshoots.

>>Rintrah would originally rally the surviving sorcerers to travel to Mount Wundagore and rescue Wong. They would save Wong from the demons and battle them across the temple while Zombie Strange and Wong fight Wanda.

>America would originally become Strange’s apprentice and go live with him at the Sanctum.

>Strange growing the third eye was originally the mid-credits scene.

>Strange meeting Clea was originally the post-credits scene.

>The concept of Incursions was added in reshoots.

>Rachel McAdams would originally play Clea.

Sometimes test audiences aren’t so bad

But user, the entire point was he didn't actually find the way to defeat Thanks through his dream walking. All he succeeded in doing was destroying an entire universe. That's why he was executed

>>Rachel McAdams would originally play Clea.
>But they preferred to choose the box office poison Charlize Theron
This shows how Kevin Feige hates women with ass

>when spider-man is not on screen people should be asking “where’s spider-man”

I expect he was waiting for someone to respond so that he could deliver some sort of epic mental gymnastics, but he's probably left by now.

Based on all these reshoots/rewrites it looks like they really salvaged what would've been an annoying quipfest into Raimi kino

>John Krasinski and Anson Mount filmed their scenes during reshoots and were spliced into the original footage. They never met Elizabeth Olsen on set.
Makes sense why they go poof first

>>Strange’s original character arc was about his obsession with “holding the knife”. He was not remorseful for the consequences of the Blip, truly believing it was the only way to stop Thanos
>>Supreme Strange originally sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos, causing Strange to blame himself for not finding another way.
But why have any interesting character conflict, am I right?

Left out the part where test audiences and suits hated the America character.

This is how Marvel always operates, though.
>"Where's spiderman?"
>"Where's wolverine?"
>"Where's captain ameica?"
>"Where's iron man?"
There are a million "where's x", and it rapidly gets tiresome.

I don't remember anything about him, I thought he got to defeat Thanks using the darkhold, but got corrupted by it and wanted them to kill him before he went to go wanda mode.
