How could this happen, Disneysisters?
How could this happen, Disneysisters?
Not enough buzzbutt
why did the best film gross the least? such an injustice
get woke go broke
The box office is now only for high-budget action flicks. LIVE action flicks.
It’s ok, the mcu is doing fine.
>$50 million domestic opening weekend
>Barely made more in its opening weekend than Top Gun 2 made in its FOURTH weekend
I hear that Everything Everywhere All at Once is good
Cowboys always defeat the spacemen.
Everything everywhere has a small budget indie with word of mouth marketing.
It performed better than half of the above ones
>Lightyear: 51 million
>Top Gun: 44 million
I guess Lightyear is a misnomer then? Because he can barely outfly Maverick in a bag-of-ass F-14
>Everything everywhere has a small budget indie
I wouldn't call $25 million a small indie budget.
But it is definitely a smaller budget film, and definitely made its money back and then some (or rather, A LOT).
Everything everywhere is such a great film. Shame that cant compete with nostalgiabaits and capeshit. (Love Strange tho)
Live Action vs Animated
You pull this argument when many Disney animated films have grossed over a billion at the BO
Brand new movie vs month-old movie
Marvel movies are basically animation-live action hybrids with the amount of cgi and vfx
The real question will be whether Top Gun can pull another $60 million worldwide to supplant MoM as the year's biggest international release.
It's already won in America.
Maybe if you like Rick and Morty or some shit. Raimikino blows it out of the water though
Lets see it's marketing budget
>Top Gun still holding strong this far in
Proud of ya boy
I've seen multiple people say that it's really nice and refreshing that Top Gun doesn't tease some sequel movie after the credits. It's amazing to think how common that's become now, thanks to the MCU.
My guess is total marketing+production budget for Top Gun 2 is somewhere around $350 million.
because the Top Gun audience only watch Marvel movies
Only capeshit does sequel hooks
