People were already hating it before it came out due to the art style. And the novelization storytime brought out the pearl-clutching soccer moms of Any Forums.
The movie does have some genuine flaws like the cast being too large and issues with the character focus. Stuff like this is just braindead Any Forums takes though.

Not exactly it. Before release, most had decided they would hate it because "calart", but once it came out, many turned around and kinda enjoyed it.

Any Forums content nowadays is associated with females, queers and wimpy-ass males, as any man with self-respect has moved on to games and live-action
