Lightyear

>zurg isn't an emperor
>Zurg isn't Buzz's father
>Zurg looks nothing like the toy story toy
>In the original toy story buzz mentioned he is the only one that has the plans to destroy Zurg's ultimate weapon and that woody is putting in danger the whole galaxy by stopping him, absolutely nothing of this happened in the movie
>Buzz's suit doesn't glow in the dark
>Movie doesn't feel like it was made in 1995
>The most unnecessary and miniscule LGBT reference of all time that keeps proving no one in Disney knows how LGBT relations work
>Galactic alliance is actually just a small group of humans in a deserted planet, why the fuck is it called galactic alliance
This movie has so many holes they shouldn't mention it was the movie Andy saw in 1995

I don't know why they're going with this 1995 in-universe angle when it's clearly a modern day tech demo

Buzz's story, from Toy Story, also clearly had an aesthetic that was inspired by the 60s; the Silver Age, the Space Age, and the sci-fi stories that came with/after it.

He's supposed to be like Adam Strange, but with Luke Skywalker/Star Wars references.

>Uhm ackshually Zurg wasn't Buzz's father sweaty, the gay sheboons were.
Imagine taking your kid to see a movie about his favorite toy and it's just faggot shit lmao

We are dealing with a studio that for all intents and purposes has lost its soul. The creative spark it once had is gone and with it the will to go above and beyond in their work. All Pixar is good for now is producing technically impressive generic children's movies.

It is like Lost in Space (1998) meets Lego Movie 2.

Wait, where is the 1995 thing conming from?

This movie is suppose to be the movie Andy saw as a kid and what the toy buzz is based on. So it’s a movie within a movie basically.

Lightyear is supposed to be the "movie" Andy watched and the toy Buzz is based on. Which would makes sense if it was 2d and colorful.

It's literally the first thing in the movie:
>HEY, JUST SO YOU KNOW, THIS IS THE TRUE BUZZ LIGHTYEAR THAT ANDY WATCHED AS A KID IN THE 90S
God, whatever faggot thought of that probably thought he was so clever--despite the fact that it's filled with fucking holes since they didn't give a fuck about staying true to Toy Story's version of Buzz.

I know this is Any Forums but Jesus you guys are fucking autistic. 27 years ago, Buzz said the fucking Death Star thing as a parody of Star Wars. The fact that you idiots think that they should adhere to some throwaway line as some sacred canon they must follow is proof you’re all fucking retarded.

Now, the movie still sucks because it’s boring, but not for the reasons you all say
>Um Lightyear doesn’t follow the strict canon that was all jokes/parodies

Feels like a last minute change

If you're going to make a movie that deliberately goes out of its way to say:
>THIS IS THE PROPERTY THAT BUZZ LIGHTYEAR IS FROM, AND THAT ANDY WATCHED
then you should at least adhere to what's in that movie.

Now, the fact that Buzz's lore is just references to Star Wars is a large part of why so many people are left wondering: "Who even wanted this movie?"

Per the director Lightyear was made in the 1980s and was a trilogy of movies that ended up spawning the Star Command show which is what the toy was specifically a tie-in for. While that promo art is Andy watching it in the theaters, he's said that Andy would have only seen it on video or a theatrical re-release.

did your retarded ass ever wonder if maybe a toy isn't the most reliable source for his own backstory

The director is getting way too up his ass with the off-the-cuff bullshit. Christ, he REALLY needed his movie to be "the one that inspired it all," huh?

>enter: the backwards-bending apologist for the newest garbage being negatively received

Gotta save face when all the people are yelling at you for making a movie that largely ignores the cartoon you did a CGI intro for as your first Pixar directing gig.

And no gay niggas

I have not seen the movie nor plan to, so I do not know.

Lightyear is a live-action movie in the Toy Story universe, not a cartoon.

Guys, relax. The toys were based on Comic Buzz, not movie Buzz. Nobody expects movies to be faithful to comics.
