A lot of these characters come from bad end universes user, Ariel is queen which means her sisters and Triton are dead.

There is an artbook with lore coming out in August by Dark Horse. As for voiced characters, Disney is probably waiting to see if the game does well before getting the VAs to voice their characters. Animated videos are likely, a launch trailer will probably drop on June 23 with individual character trailers to further build up hype.

It's called context clues, how can Ariel be queen of Atlantica if she has 6 older sisters and her father is still around? She can't, they would have to be dead for her to be queen. Or how about Jack being stuck in a half undead curse state? The stories of these AU versions of Disney characters took a darker turn, that's the whole point of Mirrorverse as a concept.

I agree that it being a gacha game is a shame, but that's just shitty Disney being cautious since their last few console games have been mediocre or bad like Epic Mickey 2. If the game is successful, they will more then likely branch it off into a new franchise and try it on consoles. It's a sad fact, but if we want these designs to go anywhere really good like an rpg, we have to play the game and buy the merch for now. They need to see there is a market for this.

Probably, all we know for now is that the curse stuck with him. But in exchange he can now manipulate luck to an extent, giving his enemies curses so him and his allies can gain buffs.

I think it's pretty cool, but some characters look like they got no thought out into them at all, Maui just had golden tattoos and Ian looks pretty much the same as he did in the movies.
