It doesn't matter that they changed the origin of them so that they're completely different rings and not the Mandarin's rings, the whole point of their existence at the end is movie synergy

those two characters are not in the same Ball-park of irrelevancy before the MCU Moon Knight was giving an ongoing series at least every couple of years since 2005 meanwhile Shang-chi at most before the Gene Luen Yang series at best been a supporting minor character in other peoples books.
