It's 2022, the MCU completed an entire saga spanning a decade, how have they not torn this thing down and started up a proper universe already?

Sunk cost due to have more success than failures
>But-b
Only Justice Laugh failed

that's what The Flash is for

Total sunk cost fallacy. They want to see if they can't right the ship so it doesn't all feel like a massive waste of money.

The one thing I can say about the MCU is that it at least has good casting

WW1984, The Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, MOS, BVS and Shazam couldn't even do Ant Man numbers

It doesn't make enough money to let it thrive naturally but it makes enough money to convince them someday it will work

The DC "universe" only continues because they can consistently make Joker monies, and WB has absolutely nothing else worth franchising.

Harry Potter is pretty much kill, but if they had a La Familia or Dino franchise they'd have cut it out with this super-shit years and years ago.

This.

I still think that the just starting all over again would probably be the smartest thing to do with MAYBE incorporating the stuff that people liked from the old DCEU into a new cinematic universe, like Aquaman, Shazam, and TSS. But honestly, those being good was just kinda to DC's detriment since now it's convinced them to just kinda throw shit at the wall and see what sticks. If those had all straight up bombed, then it'd be much easier to justify a complete, hard reboot.

Just make Superman movies. Fucking Ant-Man is about to get a trilogy.

Ah yes, following the comics for some convoluted in universe reboot will definitely get people interested.

The only movie franchise more incompetent than Sony is AT&T.

Ant-Man has more history and prestige than Superman

Because they had hits in there and don't want to waste them.

Shazam, Aquaman, 1st Wonder Woman. Even Man of Steel made a small profit.

Suicide Squad was a critical failure, commercial success. The Suicide Squad was a critical success, commercial failure.

WW84 and TSS suffered from Covid and WB's retarded strategy of simultaneously releasing on HBO Max.

Ant Man with the MCU brand does better than DCEU brand. No fucking shit. If you've built up good will over a decade it brings in the cash.

You wanna talk about the Snyder-Centric DC cinematic universe, please explain to me the magic judgement behind Jason Todd Jared Leto verbotenishness; why and how is there such unified silence behind the Easter eggs of Mister J and the Robin costume in Batfleck's batcave?

A huge character point mentioned by Afleck is how heroes fall and how deeply it has effected him, expecting Superman to take the same path as LetoJoker. Why cant there be theory buzz on those Easter eggs?

Yh it's a pretty common thing. They had some pretty good casting decisions which they don't want to turn away from since they're still young enough to play the role for a few more years. Guys like Henry Cavill and Jason Mamoa are now who people imagine when you think Superman and Aquaman. That's despite Jason being not comic accurate. If they made a brand new DC universe and used a new Superman or Aquaman or even a new Wonder woman, normies will take time to adjust to these new characters. Some will still argue the DCEU casting was better.

What they should do is not do any justice league shit for the next few years. They should build up other characters apart from the main members and carry on with Pattinson as Batman. Build the DC universe and make people invested in it before bringing in the big name guys back 5 - 8 years later. This way when you do recast, no one will complain because Henry, Jason and Gal would all be too old to play the role. Like who's really going to want a Superman who's in his mid 40s for a 15 year franchise. He'd literally be in his 60s once the DC's version of the infinity saga is over.

Someone needs to tell Zaslav that if he ever wants to even come close to the infinity saga which could very well be dwarfed by a DC story, you need to start from scratch. The boat is sinking, the hull is breached and it's beyond repair. Why are the engines still on?

Yup. This is a mess, the new guy clearly wants what the MCU has. The problem is, it's over. The Snyderverse is on its way out (the actors), you're just putting bandages and tape on it hoping it'll be like what the MCU built .Gal Gadot will be 40 by the time her trilogy ends and her story in the greater DCEU hasn't gone anywhere. Like what is your aim at this point trying to keep this thing alive instead of a full reset with a new Diana, Clark, Arthur, etc. like everyone wants?

Warner Brothers was desperate to make their own MCU, so instead of making several solo films then the teamup.
They made 2 solo films and one cross over, then went straight into the teamup with 3 heroes we haven't seen more than 5 seconds of.

The solo movies were better than the big team up

Maybe they should’ve made their Harry Potter sequels about a fantasy adventure with the magical zoologist instead of Dumbledore and Ezra Miller being gay for 10 movies
