Just from the top of my head. There's this huge bullying+abusement+deception combo theme in this show and I don't like it. There are like 3 episodes (that I remember) that revolved around scamming. The wholesome payback just doesn't balance it out. On top of all that the world is extremely hostile and unfriendly, even the sea is constantly boiling if I remember right.

Damn, Dana really blew a third of her animation budget on that 7-minute 60FPS lesbian sex scene in yesterday's episode.

In my headcannon i fix it by the fact his insecurities still don't let him commit into a long term relationship. Probably Hunter will help will that eventually.

Oh right i thought you mean violence in general. Well, the BI is suppossed to be a shithole subjugated by a ruthless emperor so it fits. S2 tackles most of these eventually, and really the only one that ends being jarring for me is the Amity bullying towards Willow, clashes a bit too much with the development she ended having. Would've been easy to convey the same message but in a less mean way. Also Boscha pretty much sealed her fate in that episode and in the fandom in general, because they show never uses her again for anything other than some gags, and the fandom either ghosts her or is just used for OOC fetish porn with other members of the cast and more gags, because well, with no characterization other than being a narcissist jock you can't do much.
