Gets over his people being genocided in like 1 episode

>gets over his people being genocided in like 1 episode
This is supposed to be one of the best written western animations, huh

>I got over it, why can't you.

Yeah, you can tell by the way it's leagues ahead of any tranime

When you've been frozen in a bubble for 100 years, you've got to assume that everyone you know and love is dead. Finding out the rest of your race has been genocided is basically just adding insult to injury at that point.

He didn't though
He was in denial for several episodes, and him not being able to let go of his peoples culture was a major character flaw and plot device.

kids are better at getting over shit than adults

>He didn’t read the comics where Aang wants to divide the world into ethnostates

If only a certain group of people did the same thing.

He's running for his life, AND the entire world is not far from being monoculture'd. I think he's justified in being a bit distracted.

Neither of you remember the show

Aang is by far the least interesting character in the entire show.

don't ya know, the real main character is Sokka. zuko's the secondary main character. It makes sense that a side character wouldn't have as much character development as the main guys.

He didn't though. There were several episodes where he had issue with his culture being wiped out. He was upset at the refuges moving into the Northern Air Temple and desecrating it, he felt guilt for running away during the storm, one of his chakras could only be opened by dealing with his grief over their loss, he was angsty at the start of S3 because the world thought he was dead and it reminded him of how he let his people down.

Just because he wasn't mopey about it every single episode does not mean he was over it.

But there are several episodes which deal with him dealing with the genocide and what it means for his place in the world.
Several of his own internal conflicts are based around his fear of abandonment, solitude, or the idea of his culture being forgotten or disrespected.
What are you even talking about?

Literally the episode after he learns everyone is dead it opens with him doing goofy shit and being happy go lucky

It's a coping mechanism.

>his ppl were trapped inside the palaces and burnt there
>like an oven
Oy...

Just pictured Aang doin' the air scooter on Iroh's funeral

>not being able to let go of his peoples culture was a major character flaw
How the fuck is remembering the ways of life of your dead genocided race a flaw?

Did the Air Nomad genocide even happen

Aang's an airbender. Being flighty and avoiding his problems is kind of his whole thing. Just like how Zuko is angry fire guy and Toph is stubborn as a rock.

That's nothing compared to finding out Sozin hated fags
