It helps that Eddy has qualities other than being a schemer. He's a good friend (most of the time) and he gets his comeuppance plenty of times so it balances it out. Blue has none of that going for him so it feels like Mac is stuck with him and suffers for it.

It also helps that Eddy is actually an entertaining character to watch and he has shitloads of that "used car salesman" brand of charisma to him. Bloo is just an obnoxious faggot even when he's not actively screwing over his so-called "friends".
The only reason Mac kept going to Foster's and didn't just dump Bloo there and went on with his life was because he was hoping to get some /ss/ out of Frankie.

It’s a twisted kind of kindness, he gets his friends into big trouble a bunch of the time and is cowardly enough to ditch them because he can’t fight for shit
On the other hand he’s usually all for sharing the cash and jawbreakers between them all, giving them 'their cut' so to speak, he even called it that when Double D was going on another rant after Ed bought jawbreakers instead of fudge like his sister wanted. Only standout times I can remember him being 100% out for himself was the Christmas special and when he ditched everyone at every turn during the free jawbreaker giveaway.
But there’s no denying that he’s slowly losing his mind up to the movie and became the biggest prick possible, like he’s actually becoming like his brother
