Superman

>99% of the villains he faces are significantly weaker than him
how can someone enjoy this?

He's called superman because he is much more powerful and altruistic than anyone else would reasonably be. It's interesting because of how he balances his life as a regular guy, and how creative his villains have to get to beat him.

>the villain is stronger
>but the hero wins anyway
how can someone enjoy this?

>trained ninja fighting a skinny clown with laughing gas
connect the dots retard, it ain't just physicality that makes someone a threat

That's not true. He's got a wide range of antagonists that can circumvent his natural defenses.

Don't be dumb

Superman is power fantasy, it's literally what his creator called him. Superman fanboys like to insert as someone whos whose handsome and has god like powers but lives a "humble" existence

Because the hero has to either improve of find his way around the situation to win, which is much more interesting.

Why is it that you guys always assume its self-inserting whenever someone enjoys reading a character? That's not true

The best superman stories are about the situations he finds himself in more than fighting villains.
He moved more to "Superman punches villain" stuff after DC tried to marvelize the character

He holds back due to collateral damage which makes his villains effectively as strong or stronger than him
Easy answer

>toss villain into space since supes doesn't need to breathe

>Go all out

>Go back to earth

Simple

People who say Superman is too strong can't name 5 Superman rogues

Honestly you're right.
Just ask yourselves this, people: would you read comics about spiderman fighting regular lowlifes thieves stealing cigs in mr raj's store? No you wouldn't, because they are no match for peter.

That an 90% are shonen anime tards obsessed with power level autism

This

what about lowlives stealing bananas

Because the significantly weaker villain is not engaging in a straight fight until they have no other option. They're sending out much more powerful minions, threatening innocents, smearing Superman's name, shit like that.

Most Batman villains are weaker than him, and they're still popular. Even characters like Killer Croc and Man-Bat only have raw strenght going for them but they drop easily as soon as Bruce starts pulling shit from the utility belt.
Only Ra's, Bane and Clayface are mostly consistent on being able to give him a good fight.
Mr. Freeze goes down like a bitch after you break his armor and people like Joker, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, Penguin, Poison Ivy and Ridler all fall from a single well placed punch once Bruce has made it through their minions and traps.

Eddie Hall is stronger than me but I could pull out a pistol and kill him. Same applies for batman's "weaker" villains. Don't know how batman compares to the demi god that is Superman.

Only if written well. If badly done, it's no better, and in fact much worse because of the over arching "plot armour" that you are now aware that it exists.

Because that's what they do when they support characters like Star Wars' Rey. Look at Moviebob. Openly shits on Superman for being a Mary Sue, yet simps for Rey.
