Because the color palette of the movie is mostly pastel colors. It's very bright and soft outside of scenes that require dark lighting and even then maintains a pretty bright color scheme.
I definitely noticed it in a few situations where the visuals are going crazy and her performance just doesn't match. Could be anything from poor choice by the editor/director to poor VA direction to just not having the range to do cartoony voices without losing the character altogether.
It's a nitpick but it was one of the things that really stuck out to me
