Finally got around to seeing this movie.
It wasn't terrible and I like Sisu. That's both the nicest and harshest thing I can think to say about it though. I know what's-her-name got in trouble for making the comparison to AtLA, but to be honest I'd say it isn't entirely unfair, in the same way a lot of sci-fi movies from the 80s and 90s can be linked to the success of Star Wars and Alien. Calling it a knock-off goes way too far but at the very least I have a hard time imagining RatLD coming out he way it did, or even coming out at all, without having been influenced somewhat by it. I sorta get the impression that at one point Disney intended for this to be a series that could capitalize on the AtLA franchise burning out. Anyway, I like Sisu.
Having not gotten my fill for dragon content, I decided to make a double feature of this and the Rankin and Bass movie The Flight of Dragons, which I had also been meaning to watch for a while. Kinda makes me wish Sisu had been dropped into that world instead of the wet blanket protagonist.
