I really want to watch this movie but it's not very often that I want to choose to subject myself to something so sad.

>an unforgettable motion picture
I think this is the first time I’ve heard that in a trailer and acknowledged it’s actually true.

>Get in! Get in! Get in!
Woulda been perfect if they used this line instead

I've been wanting to show my girlfriend this movie but I haven't been able to bring myself to rewatch it

This was & still is more depressing to me than Watership

Watership had a happy ending.

>this movie is free on tubi
Never knew where to watch it but I guess I'll need to finally cross it off my list one of these days

That’s hardly surprising. Watership has a lot more optimism that doesn’t exist just for immediately getting crushed. Plague Dogs is bleak all the way through and every time there’s a tiny up, it’s followed by a nosedive back down until it finally ends in tragedy.

Is this better or worse than Grave of the Fireflies because the posts in this thread have the same kind of PTSD energy as threads about that

This makes Grave of the Fireflies look joyful

shit

Were Muriel and Eustace partially inspired by them?

Be sure to check out The Congress while you’re there too.

Might depend on whether or not you’ve had a close relationship your grandparents, or if there are any children in your life.

Eustace is basically nothing like Jim, and Muriel and Hilda are probably so similar because that’s just what nice little old british ladies are like.

Imagine how many parents bought this for their kids to watch because the cover looked like a fun talking animal adventure

thank you

>first see this on a date
>think we’re in for a second Triplets of Belleville and we’re getting a fun little romp with some poignant moments mixed in
>car ride home is kinda awkward because we’re both way more bummed than we expected to be

This.

Wasn’t it written by an actual bomb survivor?
