Powerpuff Girls

Why didn't they make the reboot look like the original cartoon?

The right looks better though.

Because they don’t have the talent or skill to do the left.

god, right side looks atrocious.

Why are Zoomer and Millennials afraid of sharp angles? Did consuming so much so’y make them afraid that the edges will come to life and cut them?

stupid or bait, you comment was the wrong one

Why does the left look like post movie ppg instead of pre, which arguably looked better

That's cute Buttercup stays up late with the professor. I'm assuming they're watching a late night talk show or the news.

Budget issues calarts graduates and simply not caring

There is an early episode where Bubbles reminisces about her days in kindergarten and the flashback emulates the design of the original series.

Why are beanmouth tranny cartoon makers so scared of thick lines?

The entire show was done by people that didn't care for the original. That explains all the bad decisions that went into making it. And they were incompetent. That explains all the animation mistakes and horrible character designs.

reboot

why is not the same

think about that question for a minute

It would be unsustainable. Even in the flashback there are bits and pieces of their incompetence peeking through, and if they tried to do it wholesale they'd end up fizzling out and making something that superficially resemble the original but carries itself with none of the talent or direction, ultimately being a mangled pastiche of old and new.

Anime doesn't use them

That geometric UPA style is outdated as fuck and is a product of late 90s-00s.
We goto get with the times.
It was basically the CalArts back then of what everyone says now.

I thought the people who were working on the reboot were trying to establish something that reflected the aesthetics that are more familiar with today's audiences. Thinner lines and rounder shapes are something the 2010s generations of viewers would feel less alienated by. Or it could be the group of artists are working with a style that are more familiar to them as well. The crew who were drawing ppg in the 90s grew up with influences and preferences very different than the crew from the reboot.

The nuPPG has a lot of soul in its art better than the shit pointy thick ugly linearts and low effort design in the original.
People shit on it because it’s not like the old.

>More like why didn’t they design the reboot like Kid Cosmic?

Most of the criticism were on the character designs and EPIC CRINGE MEME TWERK XD jokes also animation errors

God damn, the left already looks way more interesting. How I wish.
