Nope. And to be honest, they tried making him a serious character and it just wasn't interesting.
It's sort of like Brave and the Bold's Aquaman. Yeah, Aquaman is silly; and if the usual choice is making him a parody of himself or making him an absurd attempt at edgy Atlantis man, the best option is the third option where he has A HUGE HEROIC PERSONALITY.
