Why do many 90s cartoon creators dislike modern cartoons?
Why do many 90s cartoon creators dislike modern cartoons?
American-made cartoons always looked like shit, I don't know why he's complaining when he's never made anything remotely aesthetically pleasing either
because modern cartoons are shit?
Cause they fucking suck
Who?
>OLD THING GOOD
>NEW THING BAD
Raging old man syndrome.
This looks about as good as any other piece of animated media aimed at children. Why are cartoonists such elitist assholes? They're nothing but failed artists that couldn't make it in fine art. They're all hacks. A cartoonist poking fun at another cartoonist is like a TERF complaining about patriarchy. Stop acting high and mighty when they're both one and the same.
Creator of Eek the Cat, Shnookums and Meat, Toonsylvania and Mad Jack the Pirate.
Oof, not the best resume.
You're a retard. Any one of the cartoonists a FoxKids beats the living shit out of CN and Nick. Nick and CN have always been the kids on the short bus who cannot draw worth a shit.
Those cartoons are the definition of middle of the road. They're the shows that are on at the first two hours or last two hours of Saturday morning cartoons. He's basically throwing rocks from a glass house.
C'mon.
Don't act as if Eek or Toonsylvania weren't the shit you watched when there was no other option or there was nothing else in Nick, CN or Fox Kids.
I mean he's no Don Bluth , but he's also no John K in terms of lack of talent. He's more like Maxwell Atoms and David Feiss in terms of humour and writing. Or the guys behind Tiny Toons.
I liked his work on The Tick, I think that was his peak.
Because it reminds them about how much harder they had to work with lower budgets when accounting for inflation.
Modern cartoons use the easiest method while minimizing lines to speed up the process and get paid up the ass for what older cartoonists see as a childs scrible
He's right though.
Even beta schedules shows were good in the 90s. That says a thing.
>That says a thing.
It really doesn't, because those shows were all mediocre as shit or outright garbage. Especially Toonsylvania.
Eh. There's a reason those shows are never talked about. They existed. That's about it. They're nothing amazing like Batman/Superman TAS but they're not abominations like The Wild World of Tex Avery. Ugh.
If you have experience making shit, you know what it looks like.
Wasn't Eek the Cat the only one where he was actually involved as the artist? His dimestore Garfield style wasn't very good.
In the others he was just a writer or showrunner.
Toonsylvania had good visuals and cartooning though, even if Kopp's writing was crap.
Kopp himself is lame, but he *did* work with a lot of very talented people and saw a lot of great design work.
He's just jealous because none of this cartoons got a standing splits image set.
they put in more work than modern day shovel ware
